MARCH BONDING: OBSTACLE COURSE

OBSTACLE COURSE
If anyone came out early to watch, the would have spotted Mr. Thorn lugging out four large trunks, each color coded to match the four houses of Gooseberry. They may seem unusually small, but with some impressive magic, they create an unbelievably complex obstacle course right before the eyes of the student sneaking a peek at what their afternoon holds.
OBSTACLE COURSE RULES
Please fill out this form and post it to your house's comment to participate:
Name:
House:
Difficulty Level: Challenging, normal or easy?
How athletic are they?:
Number rating: On a scale of 1-10, rate their performance.
Anything else?: Do you want them to fall in the water? Do they make it to the high trees, freeze up, and need to be helped down by a teacher?
There are four sections, modeled after Coppertale, Ribbonfin, Ebonhide and Azurcrest.
Coppertale: The area named for Coppertale is a straight run across ground obstacles, testing your initial agility and strength. There are tires to run through, jumps to make, and logs to climb. It’s in an area that’s flat and open, like the fields surrounding Coppertale.
Ribbonfin: Then, the course leads the students to the stream, where there are two crossings they must make. Once across woven ropes, and the other jumping from one floating wooden platform to the next. Be careful, or you’ll fall in the water!
Ebonhide: The obstacles begin to rise into the trees, where students must cross bridges and climb ladders to progress. The heavily forested area continues to provide an exciting challenge for athletic students.
Azurcrest: Now the heights are truly dizzying as the obstacle course reaches high into the treetops! There’s a charm in place that catches any students who lose their footing, letting them fall quickly for ten feet, before lowering them softly to the ground. It does sometimes get quirky, and drop students roughly for the last foot or two.
Zipline: When it’s time to finally get your feet back on solid ground, there’s an exhilarating zipline that will take you back.
OBSTACLE COURSE RULES
- There are three paths presented to students:
- Challenging: This is for students who really want to test their abilities. Your character may wipe out. There’s a very slight chance of injury. This path is the most difficult, but each successful run will count as THREE points for your the character’s house. They will be in the running for the best time.
- Normal: Slightly challenging, suitable for the a very fit teen. The hardest obstacles will be skipped, and there’s a lower chance of wiping out, and no chance of injury. Each successful run will count as TWO points for your the character’s house. They will be in the running for the best time.
- Easy: This is basically just a fun walk through the course. The most challenging aspects will be on the level of a standard jungle gym, and you still get to go on the zipline! There’s no chance of failure or injury. Each successful run will count as ONE point for your the character’s house.
- When you post to participate in the obstacle course, you will receive your character’s time, and whether or not they completed the course.
- This means there are two competitions: best time and most athletic house.
- Your character is encouraged to at least take the easy path!
- Cecil’s Rule: You may skip the portions of the course with heights.
- Rafael’s Rule: If participating in the course would possibly be dangerous for you, Thorn may make you sit out. Anyone who is injured or ill will be asked to not participate, or only participate in the easiest route.
- Sy’s Rule: You may not push, shove, punch, trip, or otherwise harm the other students on the course.
- There are no prizes because the staff wants you terrible children to stop competing, you’re all winners!
- There’s a snack table that’s got lots of healthy options, like veggies and sandwiches, fresh water and sports drinks. Each house has their own little base camp where their Head of House is waiting.
- How is the winner calculated? When a participating character posts to their house's base, a mod will RNG a time for each character, and whether or not they complete the course. A house’s score is the total score of all their participating members, and the highest house score wins. There will also be a best time competition for Challenging and Normal runs. You have until Monday, March 13 at 11:59 PM MT to post to your house's base and have your character be counted.

» Ebonhide: They could be studying right now.
» Ribbonfin: Really, what matters most is that everyone had a good time.
» Azurcrest: Winning is FUN!!!
» Coppertale: Will the most competitive house take home the pointless non-prize?
» Sidelines: Here there are snacks and plenty of space to socialize!
» OOC - Questions, comments, concerns!

Xavier (Open)
Xavier & An Observer
Reid kind of wishes he could wipe it off.Xavier & This Fuckin' Guy Again
Is he still staring? Oh jeez, he is. Why? Is there something on Zav's face?
Xavier grazes his nose with three fingers, smearing the dirt on his face. His cheeks are burning. What to do? What to do?
In a moment of bravery, Xavier catches Reid's eye and glares right back at him. His most convincing scowl (it is the least convincing scowl ever). Then he takes an angry bite of his sandwich for emphasis and wanders away very quickly, heart thumping in his chest.
