There are 52 desks, excluding the front one. None of the classrooms here should have 52 desks, and that's more than the number of students that have gone missing.

It might just be a rough sketch of a lecture hall or an amphitheater, so maybe the number isn't deliberate, but the obvious first thing I think of is weeks of the year.
