Left outside Ras' bed this morning white box tied with a light green ribbon. It contains two identical outdoor pillows sewed and painted to look like seagulls. The fabric is extra durable, and charmed to resist rain, wind, mold, fading in sunlight, and the elements in general. The pillows are just big enough to put under your head if you're napping outdoors, but still small enough to throw into a bag.
A small note card reads:
Happy birthday, Ras!
What do you get for the man who has everything?
I remain stumped on that question, but I hope
that you enjoy these Rat pillows regardless!
Robert Louis Stevenson once wrote: "we are all
travellers in ... the wilderness of this world
... and the best that we find in our travels
is an honest friend." I may not be so well-
travelled as you, but I've been lucky regardless
to have found that honest friend in you.
