Not morbid, just realistic. I try to be an optimist as much as I can, but... anyways, as long as we don't get complacent then at least we'll be doing all we can.
Mr. Hightower trusts you to do what you feel like is the right thing with that information - that's all that matters, right? I don't think a student has the jewelry, and even if they did I think they'd have the sense to not just hide it in their room. The point of this is the jewelry, after all, not that we're all horrible miscreants.
As for Diego... I'm never really a hard sell, but if you're going to try to bribe me I won't say no - what kind of a person does that make me? And opportunist, I guess.
