At least Garrett is nice about tying Cash's tie for him - he's doesn't make any jokes, even good natured ones, because he can tell that the other boy is not so keen on getting this help in the first place. Knowing that doesn't stop him from tying an obnoxious Eldredge knot like it's nothing, though, because he wants to help you look nice, Cash. And because he thinks tying Eldredge knots is fun.
