EASTER EGG HUNT

It's a bright, sunny morning already, perfect for the festivities to come. The house elves have been very hard at work before students gather for the annual Easter egg hunt, hiding eggs all over campus.

The staff and house elves insist all students must have a good, hearty breakfast before the hunt begins. The picnick tables have been set out in the gardens, and the pastel decorations are quaint and endearing if you have an eye for cute. They might be a little saccharine for some students' tastes.

Oakes has a special gift for the students as well. He has baskets full of shimmering eggs, that he's magically filled with glitter and charmed to explode upon impact. He's cordoned off an area a little out of the way where students can throw eggs at one another, but does warn that the glitter sticks. Good news: you won't rub off much on other people. Bad news: it takes effort to get off. Either way, it's a good way to pass the time untim the hunt.

When it's time for the hunt, the prize is presented: a massive bunny plush. It's huge. Getting it home is going to be a pain. Still, if you find the largest number of eggs, it's all yours! There will be a count done to see which house found the most eggs as well, but the only prize is bragging rights.

Competitors line up, and everyone is given a basket laced with a ribbon matching their house's color. Finally, Thorn blows a whistle, loosing them on the gardens and fields!

HOW THIS WORKS

At 9:00 AM, breakfast is available out in the gardens. It's a crisp 55°F.

At 10:30 AM, students are released for the Easter egg hunt! The range of the hunt exends along all trails and public areas outside, but never more than 3' from the trail.

There are dyed hardboiled eggs, plastic eggs full of candy, and wrapped chocolates hidden all around campus. Each item counts as one for the sake of the contest.

Hunters have one hour to search for prizes!

At the end of the hour, the participants will have their prizes counted up and the winner will be awarded the bunny. Congratulations.

Staff will be on hand, scattered around campus, to punish misbehavior.

There is a cordoned off area for throwing glitter eggs at one another. If you enter the area (i.e. post your character there) you may get glitter bombed. The glitter filled eggs cannot be stolen, nor can they be thrown outside the limits of the area set aside for this.

» BREAKFAST IN THE GARDENS: The flowers are beginning to bloom, and there are picnic tables and blankets out to sit, eat and socialize during or after the hunt. There's quiche, french toast with blueberry compote, hardboiled eggs, eggs benedict, cinnamon buns, fruit, and pancakes. There are vegan versions available.

» Glitter eggs: There's a roped off area where you can throw glitter filled eggs at anyone else within the boundaries of the game. There's a charm that bounced back any eggs you try to throw outside the ropes, and will stop you little monsters from stealing them.

How hard are they trying?: Kenzie's putting out effort but she'll get sidetracked if she runs into a friend and decides to chit chat. Or if spots Ulysses/ Because then egg hunting is going to take a brief backseat to flirting with very cute lizard loving boy.
What are they going to do with that bunny if they win?: Look, don't judge her, but it's... it's cute. She kind of just wants it for herself. IS THAT A CRIME.

How hard are they trying?: Diego's trying as hard as he ever does, so... A for effort, C+ for execution.
What are they going to do with that bunny if they win?: He's going to give it to Ravi because that's what good boyfriends do, right??? This is what Tabitha would have wanted him to do, probably. He looks over at Ravi and very solemnly promises, "I'm going to get you that bunny." (He's unlikely to do anything of the sort.)

How hard are they trying?: Ty will be trying his best today! He isn't the most observant guy, though, so he might have to cover twice the ground to find the same number of eggs as anyone else; fortunately, he's got the energy to do that! He'll also take full advantage of his squirrely climbing abilities if he spies a hard to reach egg.

How hard are they trying?: She has zero chill about any competition involving either prizes or demonstrating her own value. She's in. That, and she likes running and climbing about in her cute Easter clothes and hat.
What are they going to do with that bunny if they win?: Her first thought is that it would make a good dueling and self-defense mannequin. . .

He gets the, frankly, impressively stupid idea to treat the first egg he grabs like a tennis ball, tossing it into the air and then hitting it with his hand to try and launch it.

He hits it a little to hard.

He's already coated in glitter.

He may also experiment with throwing the eggs specifically at the boundaries to try and get them to bounce back and hit other people.

He definitely takes one to the face.

Reid walks up to Xavier and stands next to him silently for a second, like he often does. The beautiful green gardens are spread out before them, and the sound of laughter and birdsong fills the companionable silence. A little breeze kicks up and blows Reid's bangs into his face. It's a really nice moment.

And then without warning he smashes an egg into the back of Xavier's neck.

How hard are they trying?: Never half-ass!!!! Mercy isn't going full Coppertale, but she generally puts effort into everything she does. This is just for fun, though. If someone wants it more than her, they're welcome to take it.

Instant alarm crosses Ravi's face at that. "No?" He looks back at the adorable, massive and wholly impractical rabbit plush. His expression doesn't ease. "Where would we even put the bunny, Diego?"

How hard are they trying?: Zach is really determined to get his whole cabin to participate, as like, a Group Activity. Pretty much all of his focus is going into convincing his peeps that this is a fun and good idea; after that, he's throwing his prefect hat in the rubbish and zipping around, overturning rocks and trying to juggle glitter eggs. It's not the number of eggs that matter, everyone. It's the journey.
What are they going to do with that bunny if they win?: It's cute! He thinks it contributes to the cabin aesthetic.

Thanks to some extensive focus grouping, Dimi has nailed down when the best time to ask someone to prom is. That time is sooner, rather than later. Now, preferably.

He spent an extra thirty minutes trying to make himself presentable and as unsquonked as possible, this morning. As a result, he's shown up to the festivities a bit late. It takes him little time to spot his target among the crowds of students and he meanders up to her, casually as possible. "Sylla, you look very nice today. Participating in the egg hunt?"

How hard are they trying?: Pippa always tries her best! And she's going to team up with Essie -- two pairs of eyes are better than one, right? But two giggly sophomores might easily get distracted.
