Chris is torn between being grouchy and being relieved that he finally has a reason to justify not getting sleep. So in the end both of them really just gets Chris's smartass commentary at random intervals. Sometimes he's quiet so long that it seems like he fell asleep - until he interjects with something that's slightly relevant, and slightly insulting.
