Diego watches his sisters from a distance for a minute. Seeing Essie in one piece allows him to let go of his last bit of resolve. He doesn't need it anymore. He's tired, and upset, and doesn't want to look at himself. Essie needs to know he didn't get himself killed, though, and he needs to apologize. He just wants to hug her, though. Hear that she was okay and she hadn't needed him.

He slinks up to Mina and Essie, voice wobbly with the threat of yet more tears. "Essie, hey. I knew you'd make it."
