February in Crafting Club

February in Crafting Club

February 2nd
  • Today's craft is amigurumi! These adorable little dolls will come more easily to those that have experience with knitting or crocheting (luckily, the Crafting Club has done both before!) and can win over even the grumpiest club member. Probably. Cole and Ree provide all of the necessary supplies and a number of patterns for less-experienced crafters to work from.
  • Because Valentine's Day is coming up pretty soon, these patterns include a very cute monkey. LOOK AT HIS LITTLE FACE AND HIS LITTLE HEART. Unfortunately, Gweneth Popplestone places this adorable token down for a moment on Riley Stamper's table while preparing to leave and they get the wrong impression (or pretend to). How sweet of you, Gweneth Popplestone! ♥ ♥
  • Using a charm similar to the one used to animate their polymer clay creations back in September, Estella Morales-Tran teaches their amigurumi doll a little jig after finishing early. Cute! Until they turn their back for a moment and it disappears. Uh-oh. Better go find it!

February 9th
  • Today is a Free Day! Club members can finish up on crafts from last week, work on independent projects, or collaborate with other club members.
  • ...Because Valentine's Day is coming up next week, though, many club members decide to work on Valentines! Cole had anticipated this and all of the paper, ribbon, lace, glitter, and the rest that anyone could want is already out. Go for it, Gooseberry! Non-club members are also welcome but please don't steal the glitter!
  • Quentin Youngblood, despite these reminders, walks off with a bag of pink glitter hidden under their shirt. Nothing to see here!

  • Today's craft is stained-glass! Because this is one of the more challenging (and potentially dangerous) crafts the group has attempted this year, participants are instructed to pay attention and not fool around. By Mr. Oakes rather than Cole. Yikes!
  • Many club members do opt to participate, though, and some of the results are quite lovely! Except for [Volunteer E]'s. While made correctly, nobody can tell what it is. Mostly people are afraid to guess. Some people are not.

  • Today is a Free Day! Club members can finish up on crafts from last week, work on independent projects, or collaborate with other club members.
  • Reece Downing and [Volunteer G] collaborate on an ambitious [Craft of Choice] project today and the result is pretty incredible. Way to go, guys! Now they just have to decide who gets to keep this masterpiece.

MINUTIAE

  • Crafting Club meets every Friday in the Artificing Classroom at 4:30 PM.
  • The Crafting Club members list is here and basic club information is here, including a list of previously done crafts and events. Cole does not take attendance but he does know who's a member and who isn't.
  • Alex graciously allowed Crafting Club to copy this nifty calendar method! A calendar will be posted on the first Friday of the month to outline club activities. On occasion, standalone posts may go up if they're requested or an event is big enough but this will be the plan going forward otherwise. Thanks, Alex! ♥ Scenes can be done below as desired and events can be referenced elsewhere in the game too. Have fun~!
  • As always, suggestions for crafts or events can be left in the Crafting Club Dropbox or brought up to Cole IC.
