It seems even the horses are in a mood today. When (Character A) goes back to where they thought they tied up, their mount is instead playing Hide and Seek in the trees. (Character B) attempts to help and instead gets roped into the game by their own frisky companion.

Valentine's Day project! To make all the animals feel special for the holiday, there's a mini party where everyone gets to do some mane and tail braiding. Ennis Harper gets a little carried away, including a large number of flowers and even some hair chalk (don't worry, it's non-toxic!). Mackenzie Prince attempts similar but their mount ends up eating the flowers before they can stop them. Ulysses Quayle goes for broke by charming House colors into their mount's mane, before reminded that this is Valentine's Day, not the House Cup competition. (Character F) lobbies for House points anyway for the creative effort. Isabelle Sargent is too busy feeding horse-approved snacks to notice the discussion.

This is getting a little ridiculous. How did Griffin Flowers' mount get up there? Mr. Covington says there is something in the water.

The meeting is open for Bring a Friend; all members are encouraged to bring a new person for a (heavily supervised) short trail ride, after which they are invited to hang out in the stables for pizza instead of having dinner in the Lodge.

How Equestrian Club works:

  • EC (not to be confused with Events Committee, thanks) meets every Tuesday at 4:30 pm at the Stables.

  • Anyone not already a member must be vetted first by Mr. Covington before they can take out any mount.

  • Each meeting will include some sort of animal care mini-lesson, and riders are always paired, preferably a more expert rider with a less experienced one.

  • Everyone is expected to clean tack and take care of their mounts (including rubdown, checking hooves, etc).

  • The Equestrian Club Dropbox is HERE!
