In an effort to help Miguel achieve his dream of being tall and willowy, Archie's been designing a potion that would increase the individual's height. He's still working out some bugs, but that's why he's asking for volunteers before he gives his creation to Miguel. Isn't he considerate?

HOW THIS WORKS

At Ebonhide, Archie's offering people a chance to try his new Height Potion. If you do, he'll slip you an extra powerful Calming Draught as payment.

It lasts three hours, and makes any human who drinks it 8'3" tall no matter their true height.

Animals that take it won't grow into giant versions of themselves, but will become larger with very long legs.

Don't befriend Archie.

I was still Very Dismayed.

Usually, Clem wouldn't subject herself to Archie's potions. It's not that she doesn't trust him, even though she shouldn't. She's just not big on dosing herself with experimental substances. She's gotta keep her body in peak physical condition.

But... a tallness potion? Is an irresistible prospect. She takes it immediately.

Archie is, in fact, not imbibing the potion. He needs to observe the results with a clear head. So instead, he's sitting nearby, taking notes and interviewing those who decide to participate. Everyone is measured and weighed before and after.

Ultimately, he's pleased by the results, although 8'3" is a bit too tall. He assumes Miguel was hoping for more of a classic 6'1". Also, the strangely long legs aren't ideal. Archie murmurs to himself as he writes notes.

"Less... tall. Better proportions." There's a little spot of ink on his chin where Archie's been tapping his quill.

Tuesday has issues with height, (WHAT IF SHE GETS STUCK LIKE THAT?) so she didn't take the potion herself. But she still wants to support Archie, so she fed a little bit of the potion to her hamster, who currently looks more like an elevated guinea pig. And she's delighted.

"Benji's going to look so much better in skirts!" She's trying to put a pink tutu on him now, for fun, but he keeps wiggling away.Escape, Benji.

Nisha crouches down next to Archie, resting on the balls of her feet, tucking both hands beneath her chin. She's massive. And though she is still quiet, it's nowhere even approaching as covert as she normally would. But, she watches him writing, silent for a moment, before extending one arm out, wrist up, and announcing. "So much arm. Too much arm." A pause. "But, dude, this is COOL as shit."

He's not regretting it yet but he is ~bamboozled~ by last night's convo lol

Archie's got more issues than National Geographic but he thinks Miguel is neat.

"Too... much... arm," he writes before looking up at Nisha and giving her a tiny smile. As much as he's prone to being destructive in the name of science, he likes this. He likes when people are happy as a result of one of his creations, particularly people he's fond of. Nisha looks alien with her oversized limbs, but she also looks thrilled with the results. It's contagious.

"You're enjoying yourself." He hopes. "Can I measure your arms?"

Nisha can see basically everything from here. So, it's easy to spot her co-conspirator, and seeing her gives Nisha an excellent idea.

"Fee-fi-fo-fum," She announces, because that's what you say when you're eight feet tall. There's no reason to directly comment on the fact that she's a giant, now. Instead, she hop shuffles toward Dinah, throws her arms out in a 'check this sick shit out' gesture and says, "Reverse Giant Adult?"

She snickers and it's louder than she's used to, and so that turns it quickly into a laugh. Nisha lets herself recover from that before bobbling her head up and down in delight.

"Yeah," she says, holding her arm closer, for convenience. "It's like as long as I am tall, normally?" It's an exaggeration, delivered wide-eyed and grinning. After a beat, she huffs a laugh, again, and gestures at her own chin. "You've got, like, a smudge."

Dinah gapes up at the monstrous Nisha before her. Dinah is a tall girl. She's a freakishly tall girl who's best friends with a usually teeny tiny girl, which just makes her look even taller and gawkier. But now!! Now SHE'S the petite one!! Holy moly!!

"DUDE!!" she exclaims, flapping her hands in glee. "Dude, Giant Adult had a GROWTH SPURT." Kneel down before Dinah scrambles up you like a redwood, Nisha, someone's gonna get hurt.

He only says that because he’s never seen Miguel go off.

"Giant Adult eats NOTHING but Wheaties," Nisha declares, extending her pointer finger up and out, a physical exclamation point. She holds the pose for a beat before dropping down into a crouch for easier Voltron-ing.

"We're going to be able to reach so much stuff." She muses, staring at her giant hands. I guess that's...something to be excited about?

Archie's digging around in his satchel for his measuring tape, deep in thought about ideal limb proportions, when Nisha points out the smudge. "Huh? What?" He freezes and points at his own chin. He licks his thumb and tries to to rub the spot or dirt or lunch or whatever, but his attempt to mirror Nisha is off by about an inch.

"Nah. Nuh-huh. No, it's--" Nisha watches him down her nose, chin tilted up, playing a miniature game of hot-and-cold. She tries to gesture at her own face, unhelpfully, until finally she reaches up with her too-much-arm and then hesitates, visibly, like a record skip.

"It's like, ink or something," she informs him, taking his hand by the wrist and gently guiding it to where the smudge is. Another bubble of laughter pops out of her. "There."

Dinah throws one scrawny leg over Nisha's shoulders, then latches onto her forehead as she seats herself on those shoulders. As Nisha seems nothing if not structurally sound at this point, Dinah is not worried at all about how this will go. Also not super worried about her hand placement, so hope you enjoy being blind sometimes Nish.

"What should we reach first?" she shouts, unnecessarily. "Do you want to find some BIRD NESTS?"

Archie goes still and lets Nisha adjust his hand. This would be less strange if she weren't so large. Or maybe, horrifyingly, it would be more strange. Nisha laughs and Archie's face starts making expressions again, first embarrassed, then an unusual, unfortunate smile. He furiously scrubs at the spot she directed him to.

"Sorry," he mumbles, white-knuckle grip on the old, antique tape measure. "Your arms. That... it, you understand. Are you experiencing any other noteworthy side effects?"

Nisha's grin is crooked, nose wrinkling against her smile. The joy in her expression lightly touched with confusion. She holds, one more short pause, and then shifts, tilting her head to the side as she listens to him speak. Archie feels awkward, she realizes, which sort of twists around in her head, because now she notices that she feels a little strange, too. And not just the strange that comes along with going from not-quite-five-feet to eight feet tall.

The best way to fix all that is make a joke. "My voice is suuuuper deep, huh?" she over-emphasizes by speaking in a low tone. And then, with some thought, she adds, "Probably just 'cuz my vocal cords are bigger? Not - like? You know? A um, magical side effect, directly?"
