It's a bit into the party, and Hazel is already decently tipsy. There's a drinking competition after all, but, honestly, she mostly just wants a break from her self-imposed responsibility to care for her classmates. She also worries that not drinking, like she'd done at the last Grotto party, will just re-broadcast the fact that she's more scared than she was willing to admit publicly.
Apparently alcohol isn't enough to calm her protective nature, though, because even drunk she has a strong need to be on guard. It's with this sort of tense, ready-to-fight resolve that she's wandered to the border of the party. There's where she stands now, beer in hand, staring out into the woods. Nothing about her body language suggests she's considering entering them, at least.
