ACCIDENTAL POLYJUICE

Everyone wakes up to find fresh berries available at the breakfast buffet this saturday. They’re piled on top of clean leaves in an old basket. The house elves seem a little confused by how they got there, but before anyone can realize that the house elves didn’t bring out berries at all, a number of students have already eaten them.

To the immense distress of Agent Larke and Doctor O’Hare (and the rest of the staff), it seems like whatever is living in the forest saw the teachers playing with Polyjuice Potions at the beginning of the month, and wanted to let the kids have fun too. Unfortunately, getting randomly dosed with Polyjuice Potion is less enjoyable when you didn’t plan on it.

The staff try to regain control once again, but it’s chaos at Gooseberry as students end up taking on the form of their classmates for anywhere from thirty minutes to several hours. Healer Mufferaw insists everyone affected stick around the lodge to preserve the privacy and dignity of anyone they changed into.

HOW THIS WORKS

• There's a delay before the Polyjuice Potion takes effect, just so all affected characters have a reason to accidentally eat poisoned berries. This delay is roughly 10–20 minutes.


• The effects of the Polyjuice Potion lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours, as determined by players.


• All students who've transformed must stay either in the lodge or in the immediate area for the duration of their transformation. Teachers will be present inside the lodge and out of it, just to monitor students and make sure nothing gets out of hand.


• If students are in need of a change of clothing because their current outfit has suddenly become much too small or much too big, T-shirts (in house colours) and grey sweatpants will be provided.


• As the effects of Polyjuice are not contagious, calling it a "plague" seems like a misnomer. Feel free to use your three hours stuck in the lodge to debate this point anyway.

» BREAKFAST: Everything seems fairly ordinary until about fifteen minutes in. Polyjuice transformations are remarkably uncomfortable.

» INSIDE THE LODGE: Another day, another quarantine. Staff requests that everyone endeavour to be respectful of the form they now find themselves inhabiting.

» OUTSIDE THE LODGE: The doors aren't locked, so students will be allowed to get some fresh air and enjoy the warming spring weather. But don't wander too far!

» ELSEWHERE: If a student is determined to not (or no longer) be under the effects of Polyjuice (via a detection spell), they'll be allowed to return to their cabin or wander the rest of the school grounds.
