Spring Break originated in Greece and Rome, who celebrated the dawn of spring with festivals. Easter itself is a festival for Spring. But the break from school itself didn't start until the early 1900s, and since near the beginning of modern spring break, and the ancient traditions of the Greeks and Romans, spring break incorporates the opportunity to spend the week drunk, so as this week draws to a close, I hope everyone remembers to drink plenty of water, and truly appreciate the break from academic anxiety that the week offers to them.
