EASTER EGG HUNT

It's a bright, sunny morning already, perfect for the festivities to come. The house elves have been very hard at work before students gather for the annual Easter egg hunt, hiding eggs all over campus.

The staff and house elves insist all students must have a good, hearty breakfast before the hunt begins. The picnic tables have been set out in the gardens, and the pastel decorations are quaint and endearing if you have an eye for cute. They might be a little saccharine for some students' tastes.

Mr. Oakes has a special gift for the students as well. He has baskets full of shimmering eggs, that he's magically filled with glitter and charmed to explode upon impact. He's cordoned off an area a little out of the way where students can throw eggs at one another, but does warn that the glitter sticks. Good news: you won't rub off much on other people. Bad news: it takes effort to get off. Either way, it's a good way to pass the time until the hunt.



When it's time for the hunt, the prize is presented: a massive chick plush. It's huge. Getting it home is going to be a pain. Still, if you find the largest number of eggs, it's all yours! There will be a count done to see which house found the most eggs as well, but the only prize is bragging rights.

Competitors line up, and everyone is given a basket laced with a ribbon matching their house's color. Finally, Thorn blows a whistle, loosing them on the gardens and fields!

HOW THIS WORKS

• At 9:00 AM, breakfast is available out in the gardens. It's a crisp 55°F.


• At 10:30 AM, students are released for the Easter egg hunt! The range of the hunt exends along all trails and public areas outside, but never more than 3' from the trail.


• There are dyed hardboiled eggs, plastic eggs full of candy, and wrapped chocolates hidden all around campus. Each item counts as one for the sake of the contest.


• Hunters have one hour to search for prizes!


• At the end of the hour, the participants will have their prizes counted up and the winner will be awarded the chick. Congratulations?


• As with last year, characters can team up and add their egg totals together in hopes of winning the chick plush. You can only have a maximum of five (5) people in a group. Your character can't join multiple groups; once you've made a group, you're set, so choose carefully.


• You can ask to re-roll two of your characters, i.e. each player can only ask for two re-rolls. The re-roll is not guaranteed to be higher than the original roll.


• Staff will be on hand, scattered around campus, to punish misbehavior.


• There is a cordoned-off area for throwing glitter eggs at one another. If you enter the area (i.e. post your character there) you may get glitter bombed. The glitter filled eggs cannot be stolen, nor can they be thrown outside the limits of the area set aside for this.

» BREAKFAST IN THE GARDENS: The flowers are beginning to bloom, and there are picnic tables and blankets out to sit, eat and socialize during or after the hunt. There's quiche, french toast with blueberry compote, hardboiled eggs, eggs benedict, cinnamon buns, fruit, and pancakes. There are vegan versions available.

» Glitter egg fight: There's a roped off area where you can throw glitter filled eggs at anyone else within the boundaries of the game. There's a charm that bounced back any eggs you try to throw outside the ropes, and will stop you little monsters from stealing them.

The staff is weirdly insistent on everyone eating breakfast considering Easter Egg hunting is hardly a strenuous activity in the scheme of things, but no one has to tell Cameron twice. Breakfast is his favorite meal, and even if he is a little disappointed there's no bacon or biscuits and gravy, he still piles a plate with a little of just about everything before sitting down on one of the blankets to eat. Candy filled eggs are good, but he's got a glitter fight to get to.

Archie & Hero

Archie often looks suspicious. It's his default state. Still, if there's one person who can tell the difference between Archie just being odd and Archie planning on doing something questionable, it's Hero.

He sits off to the side of the crowd, his glasses slipping down his nose, rummaging through his bag. Delicately rummaging through it, as though it contains something very precious or fragile. When he peers over his shoulder, Archie makes eye contact with Hero, and his face immediately says guilty.

Madison & Open

These pastel decorations are Madison's dream aesthetic come to life, but she's trying very hard to seem nonchalant about this event in general. That means posing at a picnic table with her Pre-Healer book open and scribbling in some notes between bites of fruit instead of participating in the glitter egg fight, though... Yes, she occasionally stares longingly into the sparkle fray. That is undeniable.

Cole & JD

Never the competitive type, Cole isn't here to take part in the glitter fight or the egg hunt so much as he's here to soak in the atmosphere. The decorations and the early spring flowers and the joy of his classmates. It's all nice. He sits at one of the picnic tables, ignoring the available spread of food while he glances around and draws recreations of his favorite sights and scenes in his sketchbook. Hopefully, nobody will mind.

While he seems to be in good spirits, though, signs of tension pass over his expression every now and then. Mostly because this is all for Easter. And, after the Eggtravaganza, he associates Easter with JD. And thinking about JD... He shakes his head, abruptly scribbling out the sketch he'd been working on and biting his lower lip.

This is the best part of the event, and he is impossible to beat because he likes being covered with glitter. Also, his aim had improved since he got glasses. Battle at your own risk.

Ira has seen everyone else with their pre-healer stuff, so, he has his too. But he's never been above good old fashioned glitter brawls. He pretends not to be engaged in this but leans too close, reads a total of three pages in the entire time it happens, and whenever anyone he knows comes by, he smashes a glitter egg on them. But it's okay, he'll deny it later.

Ruby is exactly the kind of person these rules are trying to stop, because she would've absolutely stolen some glitter eggs to throw at her friends later when they least suspect it. Instead, she's resigned herself to throwing them at absolutely everyone who crosses her path in this little cordoned off area. She's not leaving until she's drowning in glitter.
