It's that time again: PROMPOSAL SEASON!!!

While early risers may see Heathcliff, Phi, and [Other Gardening Club Volunteers] setting up, most just wake to see a very large dog made completely out of brightly blooming flowers sitting outside of the Coppertale Junior Girls' cabin. The tag on the dog's collar reads:

P R O M ?

The dog has been charmed (with ~~some~~ a ton of help from Phi and Ira!) to bark periodically and to wag its big floral tail...but only for a certain Coppergal.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I know you wouldn't want me to get all sentimental and gross and stuff, so I'll TRY not too. But you're amazing and I'm really lucky that you're part of my life. Even if you let HAZEL have more HEARTS than me.

OH YEAH. And I don't know if you've read about these but WITCH BALLS are supposed to ~~protect y~~ bring you good luck! So hang it up somewhere, huh?

[After the ruckus surrounding the promposal calms down, Heathcliff hands Fern a bright orange box! He looks very pleased with himself. Inside, she finds: a ridiculous tank top, a cookie tin filled with s'more cookies, a homemade witch ball, and a fox locket. Along with a note. DUH.]

When Fern first comes outside, she notices COLOR first, and shape second. It's color says "PROM?" and it barks when she gets close. She groans and covers her face, but it's mostly to hide the grin. Then she still has a box to open. By the time she's through, she sets the box down to tackle him in a hug with all her weight behind it. "You're so gross," she says.

To Heathcliff, all of this is a GOOD SIGN. Especially the full contact hug that doesn't even come close to knocking him over. Instead, he wraps his arms around the girl and grins down at her, "Yeah! But you're still gonna say 'yes', right?"

"Dunno, might hold out to see if I get any other offers. Got to pick the best one, you know," she replies, but it's not very convincing with her arms still wrapped around him. She rolls her eyes, then says, "Of course it's a yes."
