Free Popsicles!

Nisha Lewis assured Nia Papadakis that most of the "bad" flavors her brother had made were gone, promising that she had "totally shotgunned" the bottle of "Sweet Release of Death" on a dare earlier this year. So distracted by the idea of shotgunning a bottle, Nia forgot to account for the fact that Nisha Lewis could literally eat wormy dirt and find something in the flavor profile or texture to appreciate. But she's not too worried. Who doesn't love subjecting their taste buds to potential horrors?

And it is with this level of optimism that the event is conducted. In the atrium, prom posters for all candidates decorate a counter made of foldable tables. Antonia Papadakis mans the front-facing table, looking perky as she offers up handmade popsicles to the curious. On one side, Nisha Lewis mixes fruit and flavor syrups together, seemingly at random, before doling them out into molds. Lucas Kowalski should be supervising her, but he's splitting his attention between reading something with a centaur on the cover and casting freezing charms on the popsicles Nisha sets out for him.

It's mid-May, it's hot and the pollen levels are holding steadily at "rude." Even if you somehow miraculously don't get replaced with a pod person by the government or magical forest shit, you've still got finals ahead of you. So, step right up and get a FREE popsicle. Nisha swears up and down there's a 70 to 85% chance it will brighten your day and not make things more shitty.

Iliya really should've been more cautious when he saw a Lewis behind the popsicle station, but such is his faith in Nia Papadakis that he never suspects that a sugar-based concoction might betray him.

In a rare moment of self-preservation, Iliya only asks for one (1) popsicle to start.

"This one seems complicated," Nia observes before handing it over. "I think you'll like it."

This glittering popsicle tastes like Cookies n Cream, Curry & Inspiration. Yum-o!

Webster shoots his Bison buddy friend a smile as she mixes flavors. He turns to Nia. "This is a great idea," he tells her, incorrectly. "I'll take one, please."

Nisha waves enthusiastically and makes a chef's kiss gesture from behind Nia's shoulder. "Piña Coladish!" She shouts.

Nia has trained herself not to react to the strange things Nisha says. She's sure it's fine. It's totally fine. "Enjoy!"

This enormous popsicle tastes like Vanilla, Wet Dog & Pineapple. Yum-o!

Riley just wants sugar. Like the rude bitch she is, she doesn't even pay attention to who's handing out the popsicles let alone take half a damn second to thank them. Just, like, give her tasty sugar water ok.

"There's a surprise inside," Nisha whispers like a child in a horror movie.

This Ribbonfin green popsicle tastes like Honey, Eye Contact in a Public Restroom & Raspberry. Yum-o!

Ursula is obligated to subject her taste buds whenever a Lewis culinary treat is available. She's bracing herself for the experience.

"Nisha assures me that you'll appreciate this one, honey." The look on Nia's face is not terribly convincing.

"It's gonna make you wanna, like, dance." Says Nisha.

Lucas doesn't look up from his book. "It definitely doesn't."

This dainty popsicle tastes like Strawberry, Glitter & The Heebie Jeebies. Yum-o!

It's almost guaranteed that Essie will try to sneak as many of these as she can over the course of the day.

Nia hesitates before handing this one over with a forced smile. She wonders if she should have a healer on standby for some of these.

This upsettingly red popsicle tastes like Chai, Blue & Electricity. Yum-o!

Addy was promised being fed a popsicle, and approaches with her mouth open with too much anticipation and not enough awareness of how bad she is at rng.

The only explanation is that Nia did not pay attention to what she grabbed in her enthusiasm to deliver a popsicle, as promised. She also has the ridiculous idea to chirp, "here comes the airplane," in a sing-song as she leans across the counter too enthusiastically.
