LEFTOVERS SLEEPOVER

Everyone just left for Hogwarts, and yet it feels like they’ve been gone forever. Cabins are empty, the campus is quiet and joyless, there are very few fires being set, but luckily(???) there’s still fun to be had in the lodge! Griffin and Georgie, with the help and resources of Event Committee, have set up a sleepover for all you suckers stuck in Utah.

As a wise man once said, “CAR WASH is a good theme!!”—a sentiment the organizers really took to heart. There are several real solid attempts at using cardboard to make seating and sleeping areas look like cars, but these Certified Car Experts took some creative liberties with vehicle layouts. Some of them look like cars, one is an honestly impressive recreation of a tractor that can’t possibly be comfortable, but most of them are more… tributes to the idea of cars. Just don’t try to wash them. They’ll melt.

Because the theme is CAR WASH and not just CARS, there’s a bubble machine in the middle of the floor, everyone’s pillows are shaped like ~~clouds~~ soap, and if you really want, you can snuggle with a scrub brush and put your snacks in a bucket. No one’s gonna stop you.

FUN STUFF

This is open to anyone that didn’t go on the Hogwarts trip!

Feel free to make up the way in which Georgie & Griffy just totally mangled what a car looks like. Ursula didn’t care enough to stop them, they just seemed like they were having so much fun.

There's a very supervised ~~Slip~~ Sleep 'N' Slide set up away from the seating area. There's no water, so you have to slide down on a sleeping bag or pillow. If you get going too fast, there’s a pile of pillows and squishy stuff to crash into.

There's also a Beauty Bar, because G&G heard sleepovers are all about makeovers? Riley wasn’t allowed to bring all of her makeup with her to Hogwarts, but she was happy to donate some to make the world a little brighter. There's a table of cosmetics laid out buffet-style so any of the school’s style-makers can share their talents with the aesthetically challenged.

Just don’t mix up the snacks with the Beauty Bar and accidentally eat Riley’s makeup. (Or do! God knows she probably has.)

If you guys want me to roll for something like Pretty Pretty Princess I totally can, I was already well on my way to too many subheadings.

» Fun & Games: Go mildly wild, folks. Staff and responsible prefects are here to supervise, but there’s a whole mess of board games that can be pulled from the Gaming Club stash. The president won't stop you. Anyone want to play Pretty Pretty Princess?

Sleep ‘n’ Slide - Grab a sleeping bag and slide down the cordoned off Sleep ‘n’ Slide Safe Space.

Beauty Bar - Our Lady of Perpetual Glitter is here in spirit. Slap some sparkles on your face, or put lipstick on an easily bullied young man.

» Movie Time: The vehicular monstrosities are all set up facing the TV, drive-in style. Grab some popcorn (or muesli!!!), get comfy, and settle in for a fun night of… driver’s education films. It’s only a matter of time before classics like Red Asphalt and Mechanized Death pop up in between all these instructive videos on parking brakes and safe follow distances.

"What the fuck is happening?" Austin, DS in hand, is only half paying attention to the movies playing. Driver's ed shorts from, like, the eighties? Cool, he'll be over here playing Zelda or some shit, in a box attached to a disturbingly detailed cardboard horse, at this incredibly surreal party. It seems like a peaceful way to spend an evening in Not the Haunted Woods.

So why the fuck did he look up and see some horror movie level blood spewing going on? Is this what happened to people before seatbelts were required? "Did Micah write this shit?"

Chloe likes any excuse to get cozy, and even though this is a really weird slumber party, it's still a slumber party.

She had been playing Pokemon beside her gaming club buddy, but she stopped paying attention a while ago, staring with rapt fascination at the screen. "I think this was made before he was born, but someone should definitely show him. I bet it would inspire him."
