And if not, there was a reason he fell in love with you in the first place and he can rediscover it all over again with time. He doesn't have feelings for you now but that doesn't mean he won't in the future.

That no matter what happens in here, no matter what we have to sacrifice, no matter what misery is inflicted upon us, that if we keep hope in our hearts and work hard to restore his heart then he will restore us.

The alternative is giving in to misery and giving up. And that's what the mimics want.
