[The following two sheets are posted in the Atrium Thursday afternoon: (1) pick-up hockey information and regulations, and (2) the sign-up sheet for students Quinn has pressured into playing interested in playing hockey.]

PICK-UP HOCKEY LEAGUE
LAKE GOOSEBERRY SHINNY (LGS)
2013–2014
All students are invited to join the Lake Gooseberry Shinny, or "LGS," Gooseberry's very own pick-up hockey league. No experience required. Beginning its second year this December, 2013, these shinny games are casual, fun, no-strings hockey matches with randomized teams and no goalies.

Lake Gooseberry Shinny is a staff-sanctioned method to get your frustration out in a way that won't contribute to the House Mug or get you detention, and is a great way to get outside and make new friends!

REGULATIONS
* Denotes changes from last year's regulations.
RULES

• * Players must abide by the Personal Contact Policies (see below)
• * Helmets are required, other padding is up to player's choice
• Players may join or leave season at any time
• No wands on the ice.
• Practice good sportsmanship while remembering that this is a sport, and competitive banter is not unusual or disallowed.

* PERSONAL CONTACT POLICIES aka CHOOSE-YOUR-BRUISE

Due to staff concerns about unwelcome violence last year, all players must declare their personal acceptable levels of contact.

• Colour-coded badges will be provided to players before each game. All players must wear their designated badges for the duration of the game.
• Players must designate the level of contact they are comfortable receiving. (see below)
• Any player found to be deliberately ignoring their peers' wishes will be banned from the next game. If the player's disregard for the rules continues, the player will be banned from the league.
• Each player is responsible for their own safety; do not choose a higher level than you are comfortable with.
• Players are not allowed to administer contact beyond their own level. (ex. Green badges cannot check Red badges.)
• Each player's badge will have a number. When a badge detects that its player has come in physical contact with another player, both badges will flash the other's number. This measure will maintain transparency in case players receive more contact than they agreed to.

Levels of contact are as follows:

1. GREEN: No touching!
2. ORANGE: Light contact only.
3. PURPLE: Medium contact; all forms except body checks.
4. RED: All contact acceptable; do what you must (a.k.a. "BEAST MODE") This is the only level body checks are allowed.

TEAMS

• Teams will be randomized each game
• Teams will be announced the morning of each game [I tried to balance badges, years, experience, houses, and actual players with multiple characters. There's like, one ideal roster with all of these elements, so the teams will no longer change every game! Sorry!]
• Teams will have equal distributions of all years and experience levels

SCHEDULE

• First game is December 4.
• Games are held every two weeks on Sunday mornings
• Schedule subject to change; adjustments depend on other Gooseberry events and will be noted on this sheet.

The sign-up sheets and updated regulations are in the Atrium! Push a circular thing around some ice for a couple of hours! Make friends! Make I'm-not-allowed-to-say-"enemies"-anymore-so-let's-call-them-"frenemies"! I promise it's more fun than it sounds!

I did have to establish a choose-your-own-violence badge system this year. Sigh.

Not a question but I assume a bootcamp before the league starts is protocol since it's a muggle sport meant for the cold usually so a lot of kids don't know how to play.
