QUIDDITCH/CHEER TRYOUTS

The sun shines bright above the Pitch as team captains set up for tryouts today. Each house gets ninety minutes to assess the skills of the students who come out in hopes of nabbing a coveted spot on the house Quidditch team and Cheer squad. Ebonhide and Coppertale have their tryouts in the morning, and Ribbonfin and Azurcrest have theirs in the afternoon.
Quidditch captains get the sky and the west end of the Pitch, while Cheer captains get a long table with chairs on the east end. Spectators are allowed in the stands (even from other houses), although if you disturb the proceedings at all, you will be thrown out by Coach Thorn, no warnings and no second chances. Captains will be given a week to decide who to keep, and must submit their official rosters to Coach Thorn by next Friday.
If your character attended tryouts as a captain, potential player/cheerleader or spectator, feel free to post below with what they did and/or how they performed!

Dru Goshawk
Also, she was down at the pitch virtually all day watching the tryouts from the other houses.
Reid Wainwright
He's unenthusiastic about the whole event, but follows Sy's instructions without argument, at least in the beginning. The only thing is that it's very clear Reid thinks his spot is ensured. If no one is giving him a direct command, he's more interested in performing feats on his broom than showing he can catch the Snitch. He barely makes eye contact with the new people trying for the open spots, and spends ten minutes just floating above the pitch instead of watching his potential new teammates.

He definitely threw a Quaffle at Reid's head. :|

Diego Morales
Diego is always really talkative during tryouts and practices, though, and the whole time was happily teasing his teammates and captain.
Cecil Honeychurch
In addition to his own tryout, he cheered for new and old members alike and seemed genuinely impressed with the turnout. It was a lot of fun!

COPPERTALE QUIDDITCH
Sy's horrible mood continued into Saturday morning as he was up before breakfast to dog Coach Thorn about every single detail related to tryouts. He glowered impatiently in the stands while Ebonhide went first, just barely restraining himself from yelling at Fiori to GET A MOVE ON ALREADY WE ALL KNOW YOUR TEAM'S NOT GONNA BE A CONTENDER.
During Coppertale tryouts, Sy was determined to run everyone hard, especially any prospective Chasers and Keepers. He was pretty certain that Chris was keeping his spot and Roxie was moving up to first string, and instructed them both to give new kids the BEATING OF THEIR LIFE. Any Keepers got pelted with Quaffles hard enough to bruise, and he had Faye helping him put Chasers through the paces with all sorts of passing and accuracy trials. Auditioning Seekers went basically like this, tbh. At the end, he told everyone to fuck off and not bother him for a week.
Sy returned to watch Ribbonfin and Azurcrest, and was a lot less of a DICK and actually paid attention to the new talent.
Re: COPPERTALE QUIDDITCH
Chris was pretty secure in his position and seemed to enjoy beating the new try outs with bludgers just a bit too much. But he would've devoted a little bit of time running Rox through the ringer too - until she learned that beaters can pass bludgers to each other too, at least.
But if Sy actually believes his team aren't gonna have input in who makes it, he's clearly delusional. Chris plans on giving Sy his opinion as soon as the try outs are over. Rox is pretty secure since she's already practically on the team and Chris would've fought for her if Sy had reservations. But they still have chaser and keeper positions to go over and Chris is entirely basing his opinion on which Chasers dodged flying bludgers the best. If he knocked someone off their broom, they're disqualified as far as he's concerned, no matter how good they tried out.

He didn't stay to watch other teams try out, because he knows it only makes him freak out and get more neurotic.
Gabi Flores (Ribbonfin Cheer!)
Levi Kramer; Coppertale Cheer & Azurcrest Quid
Surprise, surprise. Levi more than willingly woke up before noon in order to pull through with the joke he made to Ty about trying out for Coppertale's cheerleading team. He wore his galaxy print drop crotch joggers paired with a borrowed No Fox Given tank that he pinned up to make into a crop top. He was lookin' real fresh as he calmly stood in the line with the other cheerleading hopefuls, acting as if nothing were out of the ordinary.
IF THORN LETS HIM SLIP BY:
He has a small routine prepared to the new hot hit What Does The Fox Say. The song's very recent relevance in Muggle pop culture makes it clear that there are more mastermind's behind the scenes of Levi's attention-starved stunt. While his cartwheels are comically lopsided, his dance routine is fierce af-- which shouldn't come as a surprise, since the dance floor is where he spends most of his time at parties.
Near the end, he looks to Trixie with the widest, most shittiest grin on his face. When she runs up, he grabs her by the waist and lifts her and it almost looks like he's about to complete a successful toss to hands until he flings her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and runs off with her, thus ending the routine.
--
IF THORN CALLS HIM OUT ON HIS BS:
Levi retreats to the stands to cheer for his sporty Copperbabes and blow kisses to his favorite ones. If Thorn kicks him out out, then he leaves but tries to return for the Azurcrest portion later in the day.

AZURCREST QUIDDITCH TRYOUTS
By the time it's Azurcrest's turn, Levi has changed out of his fox shirt and into his Quidditch uniform and gear although he's still wearing his galaxy joggers. He's trying harder than his usual, partly to show off his skill to the new hopefuls, partly to brag about his excellent health to the ones still suffering the last of their sniffles from the party.

Clementine Decourt, Ebonhide Quidditch
Once she got up in the air, though, she proved to have the same surprising fierceness and drive she shows in Duelling/Fencing Club. She's as neat and efficient as anyone on a broom, though not at all showy; instead of trick flying, her style is more about quick passing of the Quaffle and easy rolling dodges, showing a lot of competence for someone who's never tried out for a team before. She followed every instruction from her captain to the letter, and frowned at the students who used the time to horse around or play tag. She also tried out for Seeker and was decent at it, catching the Snitch a few times under other players' noses, but she didn't go for any of the more daring catches, so she lost the Snitch more times than she caught it.
By the time she came back to earth, Clementine was flushed and windswept and probably the least put-together anyone here has ever seen her. She was even smiling a bit. :)

AZURCREST QUIDDITCH
At the end she thanked everyone for coming and couldn't resist grinning at people who were on the team last year, like, AHHH WE'RE SO GOING TO HAVE THE BEST TEAM THIS YEAR. :D
