Mine is sort of on hold. I'm hoping to make enough progress in Divination early in the year that I can build my project around entomomancy or broader augury. If that doesn't happen, though, I guess I'll have to change course. It's a little nerve-wracking to be stuck waiting, honestly.

I was in a creative rut at the end of the summer, but I am hoping that being back in Music class and having Professor Thrussell's advice will help.

Magical ways to help disabled people play games and generally use computers. Which requires a lot of making electronics WORK with magic and magic users. Basically I have a sort of kind of working models but the thing goes on the fritz a lot. Lots of building and shit.

That sounds very difficult.

Sometimes I feel like it's not long enough. It always takes me a month or two to adjust to being a wizard again. I almost can't make heads or tails of my project notes from last year.

Your concerto must be well on its way. It feels like you've been working on it since forever.

Oh dear. I have never fully considered how strange it must be to go from being essentially muggle again every holiday right to magic school. I'd offer to help, but I doubt I can make heads or tails of them either.

Sometimes, so do I. And sometimes I feel it won't ever be finished.

I might have to beg Zoey to take pity on me by December, but for now, I'm persevering. It's not so bad, really. Internet is a nice perk, but I can't really work on potion-making during the summer.

I'm creating a better rememberall. Because the one we have now fucking sucks. What's the point of a device that lets you know you're forgetting something but doesn't tell you what. It's hilariously confusing, but I'm making a device that will tell you what you forgot. Kinda like a magic eight ball - but one that isn't completely useless chance.

Tho I'm also tempted to try to create a howler that can actually punch the recipient in the face.

Or a wand from scratch that actually works.

Or enchanted clothes. I've read that some species are resistant to some spells. Like it's harder to stun giants, because they're fucking massive. That'd be like trying to tazer a gorilla. More mass takes more power. I was thinking there might be some sciency, magicky way to transfer that kind of resistance to much less bulky clothes. So we too can be resistant to specific spells just by wearing those clothes. Like the magical version of kevlar. Muggles create low key armor for all kinds of shit. Knives, guns, tazers. I think it's about time we started doing the same.

I haven't decided which one I'm doing, but I've started like three of these projects.

Can't you just wear dragonhide protective clothing like everyone else? It's not that bulky. Experimenting with giant skin sounds icky.

It's going pretty well for me. I've got a whole stack of songs which are in various states of "not quite done" and now I need to go through them and decide which ones are actually good, and which ones I just like the idea of. Then it's polishing, practicing, and recording.

It's an interesting concept, senior projects.

I did a little research over the summer. And by research I mean I bought some relevant books but didn't get past chapter two of the first book.

I need to spend the first quarter on research, the second on design, the third on making and testing and the fourth on evaluation and tweaks, so I've started my list of questions. I need to survey people.
