Um. Y'know, one of the battery pack things for charging stuff in the car or when all the lights go out and you've forgotten to charge your spare hearing aid batteries because you're an idiot? I mean, I totally understand if you need it. For your stuff. I know everybody needs them.

For stuff. Especially right now.

Forget it, actually. Totally fine. I've got a couple hours I'll figure it out!

Healer Mufferaw: Despite his gruff exterior, he takes Frankie's situation Very Seriously. He scolds her gently for not coming to him sooner, but it's obviously out of concern.
Ms. Whittle: She's not the most knowledgeable about this particular branch of muggle technology, but she is enthusiastic. She prompts Frankie to explain to her about her hearing aids and how they work in detail

Ahh! So much niceness.

Frankie probably made her way sheepishly to Healer Mufferaw's office by Saturday morning, scuffing her shoes on the flooring and apologizing for the inconvenience. Because she didn't want to bother anybody and she really doesn't want to have to owl her parents for more batteries - but she has tons of classes on Monday and all the muffly sounds are kind of giving her a headache.

Yeah, I'll be okay! Got enough battery juice to make it through class tomorrow.

I hope so? I mean, I'm generally not going to blow things up on the weekend but I do like being able to hear things. It's nice.

Ah, your hearing aid! Is it Muggle techn One of the staff members may have a spare battery if yours stops dies ? gets too low to use.

Yeah. They've got these fiddly little batteries, though. And I have the rechargeable ones, so they're weird. But it's really okay. I'll ask if I have to. Just don't want to bother anybody.

Are the fiddly ones harder to come by?

Usually just more expensive. And way easier to drop under a table somewhere and lose.

They're smaller, but more expensive? Are they somehow better?

Um. More like different batteries for different things. I think it's the amount of energy output or something? Different ones have different amounts of power in them. Kind of like how much oomph you put in a spell? Most of them, they run out after a while and you have to throw them out. Get new ones. But you can charge mine up again, so you don't have to throw them out. So they cost more.

Does that make any sense?

I'll just turn them off until I get to Potions and only keep them on while I'm there. It'll be like the hearing version of rationing.
