First of all, good game, Captain Davenport and team! You did Ribbonfin proud. That was a long, tough match, but it was very close, and you've put us way ahead of Azurcrest and Coppertale. Please enjoy a well-deserved rest. And Captain Ogletree and squad, that was a fantastic routine. I'm astounded that you maintained your cheer for so long. ~~Tabitha, do you want to talk~~

[...] I'm on unofficial house business. Mr. Hightower tipped me off that, due to the recent thefts around school, there will be searches of cabins and lockers tomorrow. I'd like to hold onto my fervent belief that you are all innocent angelfish who have never, ever broken a rule, but in the off chance that you aren't, now might be a good time to dispose of any contraband materials you might be hiding? Let your friends in the other houses know if you must, but discreetly, please.

However, if you are responsible for some or all of these thefts, you can return the stolen items to myself, Sun-mi or another prefect, depending on whom you trust most. While these jewellery thefts are a serious crime, I don't wish to see any of your lives ruined over it. I swear that we will do our best to protect you if only you return what was taken.

If it makes you super creepy for thinking that's romantic, I don't know what it makes me for holding onto it. [...] I thought it would be last time we spoke. I thought you'd never forgive me. It was a silly impulse, I suppose.

How poetic, keeping a part of your lost love with you forever. You really liked me enough to keep a memento like that?

It's a little Mary Shelley of you. Except... I'm not dead, which I think is a plus.

Oh! You know the story of Percy Bysshe Shelley's heart? I read that some experts are divided on which body part his friend had actually rescued from the fire. The heart is fragile, and the liver less so, and they might look rather similar when charred?

Still, I like the idea that it was his heart. It's romantic, isn't it? Although his liver would've been equally essential to him while he was alive, and no less a part of him.

I read it on a computer! It seemed perfect for them. Like, whether or not it's strictly true, I can imagine them both wanting us to think it is. These two teenagers in 2014 think it's romantic? You know they'd be thrilled.

I agree, I think they would've been. Have you ever read Adonais? It's the poem which Mary Shelley reportedly wrapped her husband's heart in. Percy wrote it as an elegy for John Keats—when he died, he even had a book of Keats' poems on his body. Towards the end of the poem, he talks about when he might meet Adonais/Keats in the afterlife, and there's this beautiful line... Let me find it.

The soft sky smiles, the low wind whispers near:
'Tis Adonais calls! oh, hasten thither,
No more let Life divide what Death can join together.

Oh, I love Frankenstein! It's a fascinating story, and Mary Shelley was our age when she wrote it. She had such talent for evoking... I don't know to describe it. Empathy, I suppose. It makes you feel the pain of Frankenstein's creation so acutely... Why are you asking?

That's beautiful. The poem and the story. It barely sounds real, more like a fantasy than something real people actually did. [...] Would you read it to me sometime? Or, I mean, just lending it to me would work, too.

Oh, because I've never read it. But maybe I will now. ~~Except I actually never read? I just want to talk to you about~~ One-on-one book club when I finish it?

I can do both. It's a very long poem, but if we're feeling particularly bored one evening and you've yet to grow sick of my droning voice, I'll read it for you. But I can also lend you my book of English Romantic poets.
