I know the power's back on and everything, but we can still have that arts and crafts night. [...] Or board games, if you're not the artsy type! Not another party I've been hearing about, please.

Now that you've been back for nearly a month, I imagine you've gotten into the swing of things with your class schedules! We've tried to be considerate of your morning classes when it comes to making the late night patrol schedules, but if anything conflicts or if you'd like us to make any changes then please let us know!

Soooo what do you think about a cute little awards system for good behavior? We can do it monthly, or maybe mid- and end-semester? Something everyone has a chance of achieving. "Hardest Worker" or "Most Polite" or "Most Helpful" or "Most Creative". We can think of other categories! I'm just really tired of talks of this House Mug as if it's some alternative achievement to the House Cup, and not a joke as intended. Only one house can win House Cup, only one house can win Quidditch Cup, but I think everyone should be given the chance to win something, regardless of their house. Individual achievement should be rewarded.

You're full of good ideas this morning, aren't you? I doubt that the House Mug is going anywhere (you know Mr. Merrill), but I think it'd be nice to acknowledge the work that people are doing and reward them for it, even with something small.

Want to get together and pin this down? We're almost at the end of September, so if we want the monthly route to be a possibility, we have some work to do!

Do you think we should have two different nights? The interest seems pretty split. Is it too much on your plate if I thrust Board Game Night responsibility on you if I take over Arts and Crafts Night? I'll do most of the organizing Maybe we can rope some of our Prefects into helping if they really, really want to. Teamwork!

Oh, I've been brainstorming ever since they handed me this badge. I wanted to see how the first month was going for everybody before I started throwing too many ideas at them.

Yes, yes, let's get together! Maybe we should do it bimonthly? End of October, end of December before break. A nice little pick-me-up around exam times and that also means we won't have to stress about getting them all made by the end of each month. We can do a big superlative thing at the end of the year and everyone can vote on it.

And on Saturdays and Sundays. I think I'm going to kayak out to the island with my sleeping bag so I can have a peaceful nap during the day.

I don't mind waking up early, it's the staying up part I struggle with. I'm thankful I didn't take astronomy this year.
