Captains Leonardo Fiori and Sylvester Stoker have arranged for a joint practice at 4 PM, between their two teams. Only Ebonhide and Coppertale Quidditch players are invited to the pitch. Any spies or spectators will be told to leave.

Ebonhide and Coppertale kick off their newly-formed alliance with an 60 minute scrimmage game. At the end of the hour, a winner will be declared, regardless of whether or not the Snitch was caught. This first scrimmage is just to help Stoker and Fiori get a feel for how everyone's playing, but they tell their teams to treat it like a real match.

After the match, everyone breaks to do some drills for 30 minutes, while the captains confer on strategy and what needs to be improved. If all goes well, both teams can expect more joint practices in the future.

Losing an hour long scrimmage because of a snitch by ten points isn't bad. This match confirms what he's always thought they needed to work on. (NPC Dahlia...you're gonna have a loooong last three months of school.) Leo was slightly more distracted than normally, because of all the mental notes he's taking.
In general, he gave compliments freely to both teams (he goes to Roxie specifically to say good job for hitting him :) ) but doesn't try to Captain at Coppertale. And he's very happy with the progress shown by his Chasers and Kazim. When he limps away to compare notes with Sy, he's not even in a bad mood.

Despite Casper's recent absence and the uncharacteristically quiet and distracted disposition that's defined him since he returned this morning, he gets back into Quidditch like nothing has changed. Once the match starts, he's intensely focused and he plays hard. Probably harder than is actually necessary or warranted. But it feels good to do something normal and to push himself and to concentrate on the other players and the Bludgers and the Quaffle above anything else. At least for a while.

The loss doesn't concern him, especially not when Leo seems satisfied with how the team performed, and he listens to any notes that the other boy might have for him without complaint before heading off to do drills.

Leo is very happy to have Casper back :(
He briefly stops him before drills to inform him in very quietly that they HAD to talk more about targeting Seekers.
So expect YOUR next 3 months of school to involve a lot of hitting bludgers in Dahlia's direction while they time her snitch catching

Is kinda mad that they didn't win — it would have been pretty satisfying to pound Coppertale into the dirt and then brag about it later — but he, Solo, and (ugh) Clem performed well as Chasers today and Leo seems pleased. Which means Ulysses is pleased. 40 points up on the opposition ain't so shabby, and it's not like he can control the Snitch. Next time, they're just gonna have to make sure they're 60 points up. Not that he doubts you, Dahlia. Just in case.

Ulysses does laugh a little when his captain gets smacked around, but only because he wasn't worried. He'll remember this the next time Leo gives them a lecture about playing safe. All in all, though, this is a good day. Casper's back, Leo's happy with him. He even has some kind of weird Shakespeare thing with Carney (and ugh, Clem) going on later. There is minimal kvetching as he runs through drills.

Minimal, but not none. He's not a pod person, y'all.

This isn't actually weird for Chris, since he plays on the school team and is used to playing with half of Ebonhide anyway. Despite his comments to Sy earlier, Chris doesn't mention any of them today. He's focused and driven during the game, but has taken a less aggressive edge. He focuses more on defense, and passing errant bludgers to Roxie instead of taking aggressive shots himself.

Chris is satisfied with the results, because Reid's been playing really good lately, and he knows that this'll be good to boost Reid's confidence in himself, which is what both Coppertale and the school team really need. But it also highlights another problem, because relying on the snitch isn't really a great strategy to have moving forward.

When they switch to drills so the captains can compare notes, there's no complaint from him.

Solomon is probably a little notably distracted. It's easy to get focused on quidditch, and he's proud of how well the chasers performed, even though they technically lost this match. But during the game, he's running down a mental checklist. Casper seems fine. He doesn't look angry. His hair looks brushed. There's no notable injuries on him. And then Leo gets injured and that distracts Solomon from Casper, because there is a notable injury on Leo.

Solomon, as always, listens to any kind of critique or compliment Leo has for him before he trounces off to do the drills. Leo seems to be in a good mood, so Solo follows his lead. Solomon never complains about the drills and sometimes, if you look closely, he actually looks like he's smiling through them.

Kazim isn't particularly competitive (thankfully this isn't something that represents in the game itself) so losing doesn't seem to bother him that much. Then again, most things don't seem to bother him much. Whatever. He raises his eyebrow the sliiiightest bit at Casper's return but acts like the junior's been there the whole time because there's a list of 'Things That Aren't His Business,' and 'Casper's Life' is definitely on there.

He's mostly glad that Leo seems to think this is a productive exercise, and he feels pretty good that he only let four goals in! And hey, he's outside on a beautiful day. ... No one else seems to care about that part, though.

Reid is in a good mood. He still can't quite get comfortable, but it's not as bad as Reid's standard levels of frustration. But he's feeling good about Quidditch. He has a date tonight. He's maintained a relationship for over two weeks which is a miracle. Sy's not punching people or trees or anything, actually?

When Reid catches the Snitch with mere minutes to spare, he's in an even better mood. He... attempts to hold conversations with other players, but around Ebonhide he's more noticeably ~~shy~~ taciturn. If they talk to him they're going to find out he's just an idiot who can't string sentences together, and Reid doesn't want that. He tries to combat this by sticking to short responses, or letting more boisterous Coppertales speak on his behalf. (He might be more talkative with Clem and Leo, though, due to the Gooseberry Team.)

If Penny is indeed glowering at him, Reid relies on being a passive-aggressive ice prince which is definitely a great way to relieve tension. He's so aloof he might as well get back on his broom and float away into the sky. As the team walks off the pitch he passes her with his head held high, glancing down for only a single chilly second.

Both Dahlia and Holden have caught the Snitch the same number of times, actually! I think the only first string Seeker who never caught it is Aiden, which is... unfortunate lmao. If we actually could keep an Aiden, he would've caught it on Coppertale's third game.

Yeah, it was before you joined. Holden and Dahlia both caught the snitch in their first games against Coppertale. So once each for them. Reid has caught it twice (three times if you count the Ilvermorny game), and Etta three times.

Probably not...? But if you're asking how Avery can learn about this, it wouldn't take a rocket scientist. Neither Sy nor Leo care about keeping it a secret. Avery can see the booking schedule, i.e. she can see Coppertale and Ebonhide booked practices back-to-back, and that both teams are leaving the pitch together right before dinner.
