FISHY FIRE FRIGHT FEST*

The weather keeps getting colder in October, but it's most obvious at night. After the sun goes down, students must reach for their scarves and jackets, but at least those venturing out into the early evening to the Ribbonfin campfire have warm s'mores and company to look forward to.

As students start to gather, the trees loom overhead, almost like they're leaning in to listen to the stories too.

Ribbonfin is hosting a get together, full of scary stories and safe, responsible Ribbonfun. Mr. Hightower has given the gathering his blessing, and has asked all the prefects in attendance (but especially Ribbonfins) to keep an eye on things. Students are told to be back to their cabins and in bed by midnight, and should use their best judgement if they have an early class tomorrow. They will not be excused from it!

• BEFORE: The set up! The approach! Everyone who's not there already needs to walk on down to Ribbonfin as the sun begins to set around 7:00 PM.
  
• AROUND THE FIRE: There are logs and benches to sit on, and a handful of blankets and pillows for better cuddling. Refreshments include s'mores and hot chocolate, and someone may be generously spiking peoples' drinks with flavored Baileys. Yum!
  
• GHOST STORIES: Did your character tell a story around the fire? If they did, describe it here and other people can react to it. Did you spook anyone, or just get booed?
  
• THE WOODS: Need a break from the crowds, or just a little private time? Just don't wander too far...
  
• ELSEWHERE IN RIBBONFIN: The main gathering is taking place right smack in the middle of the Ribbonfin camp, so if you want to go sit by the stream or visit a friend's cabin, you may.
  
• AFTER: Going home? Cleaning up?

As part of his "let's see if I can make healthy decisions for 24 hours" plan, Diego refused to go. If anyone tried to convince him, he made up a lot of very fake sounding excuses. For once in his life, he cannot be swayed.

Oh, there's work to do? Things to set up? In HER campsite? Rosy is all over that. There isn't even that much to do, but she is happy to boss around anyone looking for something to do and put them on, like, blanket folding and marshmallow arranging duty.

As promised, Kurt's there to help with setting up the event! He's quieter than usual (which is difficult to do, but since he's more comfortable with Ribbonfins, it is notable) and seems a little gloomy. If anybody asks why he's moping around, he shrugs, mutters "nothing," and gets on with his prescribed duties. He brightens up a little once the campfire fills up and actually begins, though!

Calvin was, well, not happy to help set up, mostly because he's rarely demonstrably happy, but he did help! And he also complained that he was pretty sure the campsite was going to be trashed by the impending visitors.

Katya, being the good Prefect we all know she is, figured she might as well wander over and if anything try and keep an eye on her Azurcrests. Laughing at the idea that this might be 'cold weather', she simply wore a light sweater and laughed at Riley on the way over with her giant parka. Come on, Alaska, get it together.

Z showed up a little early to brew hot chocolate in her cauldron. :) In the end, there are two types available -- classic, and then an "experimental" batch with vitamins and minerals etc LIKE MAGICAL OVALTINE I GUESS? I don't know. One is obviously better than the other. ♥

Riley came down because it was a Thing to do that wasn't homework or studying. She is going to be very disappointed in the lack of debauchery.

Ever helpful, Cricket took a brisk jog back to the Ebonhide cabins after dinner, collected all her various party craft odds and ends, and made her way back to Ribbonfin camp (possibly with Maggie + Nate??)

Once she arrived, she "gladly" let Rosy take the lead and helped set up. She added a few of her own touches, here and there. Imagine Martha Stewart just showed up at your party and started levitating tea lights like it was no big deal.

She also brought mini-marshmallows (as promised) and an array of s'more fixins. Anyone want a coconut marshmallow s'more with a peanut butter cup on a cinnamon sugar graham cracker?

Ursula is around, helping out with the set-up and happily chattering away with anyone who crosses her path. She seems very pleased by Ribbonfin's ability to come together on such short notice and is very excited for the upcoming evening!

Unfortunately, Cole is late (partially because he didn't realize this was happening until Zoey told him and partially because he's always late) and wasn't much help. Sorry guys. Once he is there, he makes his way over to awesome Zoey and her awesome hot chocolate~ And maybe avoids Calvin. A little. For reasons.

Katya would have happily grabbed a seat around the fire and started munching down on any of the smores passed her way. She will literally eat anything around her due to the fact that she somehow is never full. But she would have helped make some and pass them around.

Z spends the majority of the night snuggled up against whoever will tolerate her, and honestly probably falls asleep until ghost stories. :u She looks like a lil babushka with a scarf wrapped around her head.

Luckily, this is a school sanctioned event, so he's not at his worst. Anyone who's indulging in mind altering substances won't be hassled as long as they're not doing it where he can see. Rafael somehow manages to not even once be at risk of catching anyone or taking a sip of alcoholic hot chocolate, leading observant individuals to suspect he knows more than he's letting on.

And it's because PARTY RULES are in place, which means he's going to overlook the alcohol and weed unless someone either gets belligerent or trashed. Then all bets are off. >:C

So, Katya being Katya, disappears into the woods a few times during the evening giving they 'hey come with me eyes' to Riley and whoever else might figure out what she's up to. She brought a vaporizer with the very best of Kaley Kush. It's not super obvious but if anyone knows the two Alaskans they would know whats up and are more than welcome to follow along.
