Drum roll everyone! During lunchtime, an Event Committee member puts up the official prom court nominees on the bulletin board in the lodge. Glitter rains down softly from the prom title headings, and doesn't seem to ever stop. (Is there actually an infinite glitter charm?!)

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM VOTING

This is only the list of who will be on the ballot in May. Voting hasn't opened yet, but the candidates are being given time from now until May to campaign for prom royalty.

Voting will open May 6. Prom will be Friday, May 28. You must get your votes in by Thursday, May 27.

Each individual character (including sophomores) will get one vote, which is to say, if you have five characters, you'll be able to vote up to five times. Everyone will be allowed to choose their first and second choices in every category.

First choice will be worth 1 point, second choice will be worth 0.5 points. This will make the voting slightly unpredictable, to account for freshmen and NPCs! Someone who’s everyone’s second choice could take first if the voting is otherwise very divided.

Please vote in-character. If all of your characters vote for the same person who happens to be played by your OOC bestie, we may be suspicious. We can’t really enforce this, but please try to be honest. You can try out all sorts of vote-rigging machinations IC if you want, however!

Remember: you may not ask for votes OOC. If you do it in the comms, the mods will scold you.

All votes will be screened. It will never be revealed who your character(s) voted for.

Your character may vote for themselves.

Essie is SO EXCITED when she sees the list and Mina can expect a VERY enthusiastic hug and squealing when Essie sees her.

Diego is ALSO so excited and is going to grab both of his tiny, feisty sisters in a big, sappy hug until one of them can't take it anymore.

Riley absolutely expects to see her name on there, and Casey's, and even Levi's. She only glances at the names to make sure she didn't get robbed just because she's kind of a troublemaker, but look at the queens. Looks like dreams could come true.

She smirks and spins on her heel, wondering how much glitter she'll need if she wants to run a secret queen campaign too.

Etta is bemused but flattered. She didn't even realise anyone had nominated her, but this is kind of a nice birthday surprise? As long as no one is expecting her to actually campaign?

Xavier swings by the nomination listings to take a gander. Everything looks good to him. Yep. Good names. Good names. All as expected. He’ll probably vote for--wait.

What.

He leans in close, agape. Blue glitter falls in his hair. That’s definitely his name.

Xavier’s face contorts into the sort of face you make when someone wearing a long trench coat and short shorts and hands you a chick tract in an empty parking lot. He feels like he should probably go somewhere else. Where he can’t be seen. Maybe curl up into a ball and hide. Yes. That’s an excellent idea.

He takes a step back but his foot doesn’t land. It feels like he’s falling. Is he falling? He’s pretty sure he’s falling. Or everything’s getting really big, really fast. And suddenly Xavier Lewis is not a young man, but a ~~soccerball transformer~~ ~~living pinecone~~ ~~tiny dinosaur~~ ~~knockoff armadillo~~ ~~anteater preparing for war~~ ...something? Anyway, he rolls about a foot back, stopping against a chair, and immediately returns to his normal shape and size.

Emitting something between a shriek and a laugh and a joyous “I DID IT,” Xavier jumps to his feet and runs out of the lodge. Where on earth is he going?

Ennis missed the weird look and the brief transformation, and only looks over when Xavier happily declares that HE DID IT! Assuming Zav is celebrating his placement on the list, Ennis claps enthusiastically for him and gives him a big thumbs up for a job well done! He didn't realize Zav was so into the idea of becoming prom royalty. He's definitely gonna vote for him!!

Quinn has no idea who nominated her but don't you know she ~~probably~~ has better things to do?!

Is she flattered? Sure, a little bit. Does she hide a tiny smile behind her hand? Maybe. Is she actually going to campaign? ... Unlikely.
