You guys should probably avoid the clearing south of the garden this morning. Something's got the bees all worked up and I got stung a few times. I don't think they should be a problem for anyone else, since I was taking the hive apart and I don't expect anyone else will be doing that, but just to be safe. I haven't seen them act like that before. I'll talk to Mrs. O'Hare about it.

I thought I was only noticing it more because it's the last year before we graduate, but I think you may be right. Gooseberry giving us a sendoff? So sad Ricardo is going to miss it, but I guess his graduation was not that exciting.

I used the smoke charm like normal before I opened the hive. If you don't do that, you're just asking for trouble. That should've been enough to calm them down and initiate a feeding response. But...

I have to dismantle it, at least partially, to check that everything's going like it should. That they're building wax and storing nectar and raising broods. That there aren't any problems I can help with, like invasive insects or diseases. But it always gets put back together, Pippa. It just helps the hive function better.

Please don't give me that look I know you're giving me.
