[Warded to Maggie]
After the conversations with the Prefects last night, I'm concerned that I've been taking some of what's been going on too lightly and that more peoplefeel like Ravi does might be uncomfortable with how lenient the enforcement of the rules has been this year. Azurcrest has always had more lenient Prefects, so none of this is new to me, but I don't want to overlook the needs of the other houses just because I'm less familiar with them. And maybe we should be stricter about what happens at the camps.
What do you think?I'm not sure I can be objective about this. I know my housemates are at the center of a lot of this, so I would appreciate your input.
Do you think it would be worth having some kind of blind poll, so we can get everyone's honest opinions and have a starting point for more discussion and build any new policies that need to be instated out of that?

Be fair, but be firm. Polling them invites them to set the rules for themselves. This is not a democracy. The fact that we are willing to come up with these rules and guidelines to bend the school rules already shows them how lenient we are.
My own rule for Ebonhide is that no recreational substances are allowed at our camp's parties. No weed, no alcohol, no other mind altering substances. However, I do not mind if they take it to the Grotto. I won't force them to abstain, but they need to party responsibly and respectably. The campsites are homes and not every student is comfortable being exposed to that. I also feel that it sends the wrong message and encourages bad habits if the younger students begin to feel this is the norm.
I am also willing to ignore curfew so long as they have an escort back to their camp. I don't mind cross-house sleep overs so long as everyone is safe.

What Ravi said (and what you're saying) makes sense, though. I remember being a freshman in Azurcrest and being immensely uncomfortable with some of what was going on. I got used to it, but that doesn't mean everyone would or that everyone should have to. And nobody should have to be uncomfortable in their own camp.
I'll talk to Quinn and Jesse.
Thank you, Maggie. I know holding the Head Boy's hand isn't actually in your job description, but I appreciate it.
AAA I'M SORRY FOR MY PHONE'S AUTOCORRECT. Axurcrest tho lmfao
You've only been Head Boy for a month, Cecil, and nobody in Azurcrest has come to any actual harm. You're doing fine, I just think this needs to be addressed before it develops into a problem. Their eagerness to introduce drugs and alcohol onto the scene is alarming and points toward an issue more severe than rule-breaking. Since when has underage drug use become the norm? I don't feel comfortable accepting the idea that this is just what teenagers do. Their minds and bodies are still developing. This isn't healthy.
It's okay to rely on others! Quinn and Jesse are there to help you and so am I. We're a team. If you need hand-holding, I'll hand-hold you. I'm glad Rafael brought this topic up and I'm glad everyone is eager to discuss it and work toward a solution. It makes me really proud of our little prefect family.
AXURCREST FOREVER
Thank you, Maggie. I'm trying. I just want to do the right thing, but I'm not always sure what that is anymore. There's always been alcohol and drugs in Azurcrest, at least as long as I've been here, and I suppose that's part of the problem. Everyone that's here now, whether they partake or not, does thinks that's the norm. Me too, I guess. But it shouldn't be that way.

I'm really lucky to have you as Head Girl, you know that? And Ravi and Raphael and everyone. We are a team. We're a good team. And we'll make this work.
this is karma for making fun of meggie's Almoist today.
Oh, you, making me blush! I'm lucky to have you as Head Boy as well. We're a good balance, I think! And, you know, if you're afraid of looking like the bad guy, Raphie's eager beaver to play bad cop for us. I'm maybe starting to suspect he enjoys it.
how did I miss this? XD
I think we are too, Maggie. Star-crossed houses and all.
As much as I think you're right about Rafael's willingness to take the heat, though, I think this needs to come from me.
it's part of the lego thread
I think it will definitely come off as more sincere if it's coming from you. I am having him announce my policy for me, but Ebonhide is incredibly mellow. My rule set is to protect them from your little flock of birdies. Although the worst they have done to us is the snow of feathers and it was an awfully cute prank.
amazing
It will. Rafael's a good guy, but notorious for being strict; coming from him, it might as well be a challenge.

Thank you again, Maggie. I needed this.
