PROM COURT VOTING

Prom court voting opens today, with a large, tamper-proof ballot box located in plain view in the atrium. The walls of the lodge are covered in posters promoting one student or another, and more are sure to appear in the following weeks.

It’s announced that the theme will be... Clue! Everyone is given their colorful aliases by way of a large poster up on the wall by the ballot box, as well as physical invitations. The cards cordially invite their alias to the home of Mr. Gooseberry, a millionaire philanthropist, for a night of excess and elbow-rubbing.

Of course, Event Committee is going to be hard at work building a mystery for the party-goers to solve. The plot will be that all the students are guests at Mr. Gooseberry's house when he's abruptly murdered! Who will solve the crime first?! As an exciting bonus, it's also revealed that the school will be renting out a mansion for the dance. Very thematic.

RULES AND GUIDELINES
  • You must get in you ballots by Thursday May 25th, 11:59 PM. Until this time, you can edit your comment and change your mind as much as you like.

  • Prom will be Friday, May 26.

  • Each individual character (including sophomores) will get one vote, which is to say, if you have five characters, you'll be able to vote up to five times. Everyone will be allowed to choose their first and second choices in every category.

  • First choice will be worth 1 point, second choice will be worth 0.5 points. This will make the voting slightly unpredictable, to account for freshmen and NPCs! Someone who’s everyone’s second choice could take first if the voting is otherwise very divided.

  • Please vote in-character. If all of your characters vote for the same person who happens to be played by your OOC bestie, we may be suspicious. We can’t really enforce this, but please try to be honest. You can try out all sorts of vote-rigging machinations IC if you want, however!

  • Remember: you may not ask for votes OOC. If you do it in the comms, the mods will scold you.

  • All votes are screened. It will never be revealed who your character(s) voted for.

  • SECOND CHOICE VOTES DO NOT EXIST IN-UNIVERSE. They are there to represent unplayed characters and freshmen, and to make the results slightly more unpredictable. Don't have your character(s) reference them, please and thank you!

  • Your character may vote for themselves.
