I talked to it once in the anonymous post. It was like talking to a lonely little kid. So, I always kind of felt bad for it? But the stuff's been going on lately is messed up. Quayle gets taken. Evercreech, Sr. fake-sees someone die. What's the next logical step from there?

I just wasn't thinking straight when I realised that Vee was out there alone.

I know. And it's not as if I expected you to ignore it, even if her friends and prefect were already going out to get her.

But I'm responsible for you, and it's not safe out there. Maybe the buddy system is a placebo. I don't know. But next time... let me know first, please? I would've dropped everything and gone with you.

I'm not sure that the girls should have gone back out there. I mean, they were drunk enough not to realise that they'd all gone back without her or a viable buddy to walk back with the first time. I don't think two more drunk girls going back out there was the smartest move? Even if one of them was a prefect, they were both still drunk.

For what it's worth though, they all went back to Ebonhide safely.

Thanks, Ravi. I know you would have. But like I said, I just wasn't thinking clearly by then. Worry makes you do stupid things and my own safety was entirely eclipsed by the fact that I needed to make sure she was safe.

Do you think it'd help to have a quick cabin chat about ways to help each other out in sticking to the rules too? That way we can share the responsibility a bit more. ~~I feel like I probably should have been keeping a better eye on Jeremy, but I~~

Okay guys. Seriously. This was all on me. You guys don't have to play the blaming game when you did nothing at all. I knew the rules and I chose to break them because I was worried about Vee and didn't think adding two more drunk girls to the mix was a safer option than my going out there to help. I don't think having a badge actually confers invincibility. But it was reckless to go out there alone, I know. In any case though, you guys were obviously not involved and should be the last ones trying to claim responsibility for any of this.

We're a cabin. We are supposed to look out for each other. Ravi brought this to us as a cabin. I don't think there's any blame to be placed; even if there is, it's a futile exercise. We're just trying to figure out how to do better as a cabin. If only to keep Ravi sane.

I don't see why you guys have to blame yourselves for something I did though. Where's the logic in that.

But yes, keeping Ravi sane is important. ~~He's just always so busy~~ ~~It's partly because I don't want to bother him that I never said anything~~

Don't think of it as a blame game, dude, think of it as a collective uniting of brain power. Obviously we need as much as we can get to overrule our hormones.

It was less about hormones and more about the fact that I didn't think three drunk girls out there alone was a good idea? But I could have handled it better, that was for sure. It's just not my first instinct to seek help ~~especially if I feel like it's an inconvenience to others~~ which I will freely admit.

That's super gallant of you, dude, but my understanding is, like, they were lucid enough to use the buddy system.

Just wake one of us up next time. Shit's weird out there none of us want anyone to get hurt.

They were drunk enough to forget to leave Vee a buddy to walk back with in the first place, so I don't think lucidity really applies here. But you're right, I definitely should have gone out there not alone. And for that I have no excuse except my own apparent recklessness.

Glad that's sorted. Now if only the rest of the school were as agreeable, level-headed and handsome as us. Maybe folks wouldn't get left behind.
