ANONYMOUS EVENT: Start!

Students wake up to a normal morning. It rained overnight, but it promises to be a bright spring day. They open their journals, and as they write, everything appears normal. By 9:00ish, however, it's clear something is very, very wrong.

FROM THIS POINT ON, ALL POSTS AND COMMENTS MADE TO THOSE POSTS WILL BE COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS.

HOW THIS WORKS

• Anything posted in the journals on May 9 and 10 will be completely anonymous. Before 9 AM on May 9, it will not be common knowledge that the journals are anonymous now.


• By "anonymous," we mean New Moon Post rules: Post/comments do not have the author's name attached. Handwriting appears in generic black ink in a uniform font. Effects such as glitter/sparkles or non-generic text colours or fonts are disabled. Drawings appear distorted. You can still use italics, bold, strikeouts and underline.


• Anything your character posts will appear like normal in their journal. Their names will appear on their comments, their handwriting will appear unaltered, and their wards will appear to be working.


• To everyone else, your character's post and comments are anonymized. Their wards will have failed.


• Details on wards: When your character attempts to make a ward, it will seem like it's working regularly on their end. However, on the other side wards will appear as normal text, and who it's warded to ("[Warded to Joey]") is OOC information only. The content of wards will be visible to everyone.


• All this means is that, yes, there is a window of time this morning where your character can reasonably make a failed ward if you would like them to expose themselves. If they're still doing it by tonight or tomorrow, they'll look pretty foolish.


• For organizational purposes, please use the "* anonymous event" tag on all on your posts.


• We may update and edit this page with clarifications if need be!

The "window" is IC, not OOC. Any longer is just not realistic, as the issue should be immediately apparent to anyone who reads their journal.

If you want your characters to make a mistake, either: a) say that the post is backdated to earlier this morning, or b) say that your character hasn't been looking at the journals until whatever time they're posting and they don't know what's going on. Everyone understands what it means when we post things saying "[posted before the party]" or whatever.
