Oh, I mean... I don't think so? Not unless somebody dies?Nobody's died, so...[Frustrated scribbles over his own strike-outs. He taps the page a few times as he thinks through his wording.] It takes a lot to close down a school?
I mean, I think the difference is that no one expected Hogwarts to be a battleground. Here, we don't know what to expect. Whatever is going on, even MACUSA agents and stuff can't figure it out you know? So I guess it's all that "fear of the unknown."
Not to mention, this isn't a public wizarding school the way Hogwarts is. It's private, there's tuition, you get scholarships etc. It would be easier to close down, I think.
But you're right. As long as no one loses their heads over anything, I think we're okay, right?
But they should have? There were several attacks on Hogwarts while Harry Potter was in attendance? One of the competitors in their Triwizard Tournament was even killed by You-Know-Who... And that predated the Battle of Hogwarts which was in... 1998, I think? [...] Yes, yes, 1998! I was one year old.
It's true that this is a private school, though... And there are more options here in North America than there seem to be in the UK. But also because it's a private school, I think maybe it would stay open as long as there's funding? So as long as people keep donating and paying for their children's tuition, it would stay open... It really all depends on our parents.
You're totally right. I mean after all that they should have but AGAIN also right, there wasn't as many options for school and their parents could always pull them from school if they wanted to, same as here. I guess what I'm saying is I have little to no knowledge of how these things get decided so I'm worried because I don't know the process or how easy/difficult it is. :(
Yeahhhh... I guess I can't say I hope they don't care because that would be awful. I hope they do care but also don't shut down the school.
We haven't been told anything official yet. But I'd make the wild assumption that there won't be any more grotto parties. This is the part I ask none of you to try to make your own.
And if for any reason this wild assumption is absolutely incorrect, then we'll put our foot down: none of you guys are going to any more Grotto parties. Or going out to the Grotto on your own sans party.
Unless you want to literally get dragged back to camp by your ear.
No dragging necessary for me. I thought the hangovers were bad, but I've no desire to get stuck in a situation where debating the benefits of cannibalism is anything but purely academic fun.
