Calvin fights the kiss, but honestly? Not very hard. He spends more time complaining that he's going to lose this imaginary game with no real rules than he does actually trying to resist Hazel's smooch on the cheek.

As for the crocheted animals, Calvin... clearly thinks they're cute. Still, he tries to play it cool, eternally self-conscious. He's not terribly convincing, though, especially when he sees the way that some of them glow when they're close together. There's a moment of unguarded delight where he presses his hands to his mouth and admires the sentimental trick.
