KISSING DAY

RULES

Kissing Day is the day before the summer solstice! It's considered good luck to get kissed today, and bad luck and a year of loneliness if you don't get a kiss, or if the object of your affection refuses a kiss from you.

The melodrama of what it means if you don't get the right kiss can vary, so feel free to have your characters be incredibly melodramatic or extremely exasperated over this superstition.

Simply comment with your character's name and form below, and then respond to others who have posted their characters!

Some students may be under the impression that more kissing = more luck. Will anything special happen if you collect the most kisses? (... probably not, but you'll sure feel loved.)

Receptiveness: Casper, unsurprisingly, doesn't want any part of this stupidity. He will glare at all would-be kissers...but there are probably a few people that could get away with it. They may or may not know who they are.

Kenzie waggles her eyebrows at Casper.

Casper knows what that eyebrow waggle means and his response is an immediate and uncompromising, "No." He has no desire to be branded with garish red lipstick.

Ulysses also waggles his eyebrows at Casper.

Iliya rolls his eyes when he sees this. "Do not kiss them. They do not deserve it."

Kenzie switches her target. "What if we kiss you instead, Krum Cake?"

Ulysses' eyebrow waggle isn't any more effective than Kenzie's, even without the garish lipstick to consider. He looks about as impressed by all of this as Iliya does. "Why don't you and Quayle go back to sucking face like usual and leave the rest of us out of it?" he replies flatly.

"Why, Casper. How could you? You could've let me down gentle instead of up and breaking my heart." This is probably the least offended Ulysses has ever been, but he's really putting his heart and soul into selling this. He's devastated and scandalised and, frankly? You oughta make it up to him. "First Krum slanders me and now this."

Nia, a fully licensed shitter, passes through this clod of people, wordlessly hands out individual hershey kisses to all four of them and then heads off on her way.

If anyone makes moves, Iliya is moving to hide behind Casper. But for now, pretending he's not a huge coward means standing his ground. He crosses his arms and does his best to look irritated.

"It is not slander if it is—" Iliya is immediately distracted by chocolate, and accepts his Hershey's kiss eagerly. Antonia, you angel.

Does Nia think she can train Casper to like sweets if she keeps giving him chocolate? Whatever the case, he rolls his eyes and shoves the candy into Iliya's hand.

Halway down the hall, Nia pulls a legal pad from her school bag, flips to the middle and checks "Torture Casper Kim" off on her to do list. It's below, "Pump iron and get swole" and above "Kiss a lot of cuties."

Meanwhile, Kenzie sees that Iliya is distracted by sweets, and gets in as many face kisses as she can before he squirms away from her.

Casper is clearly so mistreated by Nia. Why does he even talk to her?

Ulysses immediately shoves his kiss into his mouth. Thank you, Nia! For the next 30 in-game seconds, everything he says will be through a mouthful of chocolate.

Once Nia has come and gone and delivered her candy, Casper looks back at Ulysses with uplifted eyebrows and answers wryly, "If you were hoping for 'gentle' it's better that I break your heart now anyway."

It takes all of Ulysses' willpower not to waggle his eyebrows again. Instead, he puts his hand over his heart and plaintively asks, "Why won't y'all let me love you? I mean, me and Kenzie were just trying to do somethin' nice."

"If you're looking for a gentle kisser, he ain't the one anyhow," Cameron points out wisely.

"I guess we weren't meant to be," Ulysses sighs. "Poor Casper. Hope someone else saved him from a year of bad luck."

"He prefers bad luck," Iliya comments. "It gives him a reason to be grumpy."

"What's your excuse?"

"You're all assholes," Casper points out mildly, folding his arms but ruining his otherwise grumpy demeanor by smiling just the tiniest bit.

Clem is not off-put by Casper's glares and tries to peck him on the cheek when she meets him for their morning run. She's hoping the very early morning hour will give her an element of surprise. She's easy to bat away and will respect his boundaries for the rest of the day if he's strongly opposed, though.

This is exactly how Clem got Casper last year, so he should see it coming, and yet...as he's tying back his dark hair she still manages to plant a smooch right on his cheek. He looks startled, but only for a moment. "...Got that out of your system now?" he asks dryly.

Cameron is willing to risk his life in the pursuit of maximum kisses.

He gives Casper a quick peck, counting on the element of surprise to survive, then BOLTS in the opposite direction. He's not the most athletic, but he does have damn long legs.
