RULES

• Kissing Day is the day before the summer solstice! It's considered good luck to get kissed today, and bad luck and a year of loneliness if you don't get a kiss, or if the object of your affection refuses a kiss from you.


• The melodrama of what it means if you don't get the right kiss can vary, so feel free to have your characters be incredibly melodramatic or extremely exasperated over this superstition.


• Simply comment with your character's name and form below, and then respond to others who have posted their characters!


• Some students may be under the impression that more kissing = more luck. Will anything special happen if you collect the most kisses? (... probably not, but you'll sure feel loved.)

Ari makes a soft hmph noise as she attempts to ignore Charlie, but she's also very clearly blushing. Stop menacing her! She's trying to succeed!

The blush only encourages her shittiness and her grin grows even wider. "I can guarantee you'll score at least five points higher with one of my kisses, but it's your call."

"Why would that be true?" Ari asks, exasperated into speaking. She hopes her skepticism that any of Charlie's intellect might rub off on her is clear from her tone.

"I'm cursing you too." Jade informs Ari, not even bothering to look like she would otherwise kiss her.

"Don't I have to try to kiss you first, before it counts for bad luck?" Ari asks.

"Oh, no." Those are probably the official rules, but Jade likes to make her own, and shakes her head. "There's a clause in there that allows withholding to count as a curse. I did check."

"How devious," Ari says. "And has anyone cursed you back?"

"Essie did." She remembers the snap fondly. "Everyone else is trying to kiss me."

"If you really wanted to get the best of them, you'd let them kiss you and then refuse to kiss them back. That'd be sort of a double-curse, wouldn't it?" she asks. She's not 100% clear on this tradition, so she's spitballing, but if Jade can make up rules so can she.

"Oh, I like that better." Jade muses, face lighting up just a little at the idea of super curses. "I know a few people who are really cursed, in that case. Like Micah's bingo."

"Micah was always a lost cause," Ari reasons. "I'm not sure we could do anything to help him if we tried."

"He did seem very happy to be cursed. So in a way, we're helping him. Sort of." It might be incorrect logic, but it's Jade's.
