RULES

• Kissing Day is the day before the summer solstice! It's considered good luck to get kissed today, and bad luck and a year of loneliness if you don't get a kiss, or if the object of your affection refuses a kiss from you.


• The melodrama of what it means if you don't get the right kiss can vary, so feel free to have your characters be incredibly melodramatic or extremely exasperated over this superstition.


• Simply comment with your character's name and form below, and then respond to others who have posted their characters!


• Some students may be under the impression that more kissing = more luck. Will anything special happen if you collect the most kisses? (... probably not, but you'll sure feel loved.)

"Ughhh, I know. They're awful," Micah laments without missing a beat. "Better to focus your attentions on the attractive people in your own year, am I right? Especially those cuties in Azurcrest. There isn't a single person among the Azurcrest sophomores I'd consider unkissable. Don't you agree?"

Excellent swerve, but "I hear Jade is cursed." Cursing, actually, Cash. Don't get it twisted.. "Literally unkissable."

"No such thing! I'll have you know that I, Micah 'Hot Lips' St. Clair, got to kiss Jade 'Curse-Bequeather' Otterwell on this day. See, this proves it."

Micah reaches into his pocket and flashes this alarmingly well-prepared piece of paper.

Holy crap. This is a game changer. "Milo or Frankie would be most efficient," he says, after looking the card over. It's barely even a dodge at this point, just helpful advice. You're bad a BINGO, Micah.

"Wow! Don't stomp on my dreams, Cash!" Micah looks at the card with a slightly aggrieved sigh. Cash may be correct, but he sure isn't fun, seeing how Milo is straight and Frankie's been kind-of-sort-of dating Will for awhile now. "I got a spell to randomly generate the names and it sucks. Way to be smug about your unkissability just because you're in the same row as Calvin and the same column as Todd."

He's a little smug. Sorry, Micah. Mention of Calvin does remind Cash of his secret competition, though.

"Just trying to help," he replies mildly. Cash drags his finger in a T from Fern to Ree, then Ramon to Pippa. "These are probably your best bets." Although, on second thought, "Fern is a wild card."

Ree and Ramon are sure shots. Ree loves him, and Ramon wouldn't care enough to say no. Pippa, he's not sure about, and he hasn't seen her around anyway. Is she in hiding? Has she gone back to England already?

The other suggestion has merit. "Ree adores me and knows I'm a good kisser. For your information. I have references and everything." Micah taps the names at the top of the row. "And Fern and Charlie love kissing. They just love stomping on boys even more? So I'd just have to take a bet on whether they'd find easy makeouts more appealing than hurting my feelings. Geeeeez, why did all the difficult Coppertales get grouped into this corner?"

"We're clique-ish. Who are the easy Coppertales?" He means easy like 'the opposite of difficult,' but in this case, both meaning probably apply.

"Hazel and Ana," Micah says without hesitation. He means this lovingly. Hazel and Ana are his favourite Coppertales, except in cases when he's trying to hit on Cash, then they get temporarily downgraded to second favourites. But in their hearts, they must know Micah would always choose them over some boy, no matter what he actually says. "Already made out with both of them today. Is that weird, seeing how they're best friends? Would you think it was weird if I tried to make out with Todd?"

The idea of Micah convincing Todd to french makes Cash laugh out loud with his human mouth. He's as surprised as anyone.

The image is just too funny — well, maybe not for Todd. Definitely not for Todd. And it's not that he's laughing at his best friend's crush predicament — Cash's own heart may be impenetrably buttressed, but contrary to popular belief, he is capable of experiencing empathy. He's seen the agonies of Romance secondhand, and he feels bad about it. But oh man. He feels fairly confident that that make out won't won't happen.

"Nope. Good luck," is about all he can manage in reply.
