DREAMERS

DREAMERS
A thick hush falls over the school just past midnight. The sun won't be up for many hours still when some students begin to stir. In a daze, they find their shoes. Maybe they get dressed. Maybe they grab some beloved item they might need. Their roommates stay fast asleep, and they don’t hear any mumbled goodbyes that may or may not be said.
The children each walk outside, and take the shortest route into the wilderness, disregarding the paths. They search for the woods around Ebonhide, the forests beyond Coppertale, the mountains past Azurcrest. No one sees them or stops them. They keep going in a daze for hours, until they’re too tired to go any further. When exhaustion takes them, they lie down, and might remember rough, bark-like hands tucking them away into the underbrush, beneath a log, in the crook of a tree’s branches.
And then they dream.

RULES:
- Characters who are dreaming are each given a space that reflects a scenario where they would be completely content and satisfied. This can just be an appealing location, or it can be an all-out mini AU. Why leave and grow up when Anonymous can grant you all your wishes forever? :)
- They can imagine people are with them in the dream. For instance, if Susy is pining after George, she might dream up a fake George to be in there with her. This George will be NPCed by Susy’s player, and will reflect both how Susy sees him, and how she wants him to behave. George’s actual player has no control over this.
- None of it is real, so the only limitation is your character’s imagination.
- While in their own dream, characters may change or add things. They cannot do this in other dreams.
- Characters may leave their dream and go wander into dreams belonging to other people. This will allow dreamers to have scenes with one another, or just go poking around to see everyone else’s deepest desires like a creepy voyeur.
- Dreamers will not be able to recognize inconsistencies or logical failures while dreaming. They won’t think it’s strange to be on a beach one moment, only to pass through the flaps of a tent and end up in an L.A. nightclub. They won’t notice or care if they meet a fake NPC who’s behaving oddly, or even if they run into a fake double of themselves. They can acknowledge it’s a little odd, but will just roll with it. It’s a dream.
- Dreamers will experience strong feelings of contentment, safety, and satisfaction. They don’t necessarily need to behave more honestly or act friendly towards people when they ordinarily wouldn’t be. Their core personalities will remain intact.
- However! Characters will also be inclined to behave impulsively, and go for what they want or what would make them happy without thinking about the consequences. They’ll lack their normal caution and restraint.
- No one will realize something is seriously wrong. Certain characters may get a light sense that this is weird, but no one will panic. For instance, Calvin is a perpetually unhappy character who is not easily appeased by a fantasy scenario, and may have a harder time embracing his dream. However, he will remain largely content and won’t feel he’s in any danger. Feelings of uncertainty won’t allow anyone to “figure out” that something is off.
- Anything that disturbs the peace of a dream will go away. For instance, if another character starts upsetting someone, Anonymous may separate them and send them back to their respective dreams.
- No one can get hurt in a dream.
- Please keep everything PG-13.
- It is up to you how much your character remembers after this.
- Traveling through the dreams is weird and unpredictable. People will be drawn to the dreams of those they’re close to, but you may still end up appearing in a random one. This is basically just to give everyone an excuse to put their character anywhere!
- Unlike rescuers, dreamers can do multiple scenes simultaneously.
- Please fill out the form below and post it to the header indicating your character's year. The sorting is only to help players find the character(s) they're looking for.
- From this point forward, characters you signed up as victims cannot post or reply to the journal system.
- Characters you signed up as rescuers: please don't react to the disappearances of your friends/family until the rescuer plot goes up tomorrow.
Name:
Set the scene: Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the scenario for their dream just to give others a basic idea of what’s going on. For instance, “Neil wanders around a creepy abandoned hospital with a camera crew, imagining himself as the host of a paranormal investigation show.”
How do they see themselves?: Characters may imagine themselves differently. Different hair, clothes, age, etc. If they remade themselves, describe how they look here.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: What is the doorway to their dream? Is it the door to a library? An Alice in Wonderland style rabbit hole? Be creative as you like, but it needs to be a portal that one can go in and out of with relative ease.
Describe the setting: Describe the physical appearance of the area, what people might run into when they enter it, what’s going on, etc. You can get wild with this.
Imaginary NPCs: Are there any imagined people in the dream? If so, list them. Describe if there’s anything noteworthy about their behavior.
Accessibility: Can anyone visit your character’s dream, or only select people? Or is it completely private? Are you going to be responding to visitors or not? Feel free to establish that you won’t respond to everyone who passes through.

SENIORS
Diego Morales
Set the scene: Diego's over the top romantic camping fantasy that he's definitely going to find embarrassing in retrospect.
How do they see themselves?: No difference! Although he is dressed in typical Diego fashion, just a little extra dramatic. His shirt's partially unbuttoned, his hair is perfect, his suspenders are what Diego must imagine as his sexiest leather suspenders. Diego is going for "let's settle down" hot.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: You squeeze through a narrow slot canyon to a ladder that leads up to the dream.
Describe the setting: The deserts of Moab at night. There's a path from the entrance of the dream that's lit by candles, and they lead to a very luxurious tent that clearly contains a large bed and even more candles. There's a crackling fire pit and a bottle of wine with two glasses. There's a bowl full of figs. This is blatantly a couple's retreat.
Diego hangs around the fire playing one of the many instruments that are scattered around. There's even the piano his mothers got him set up out here. There are even a few he hasn't learned how to play yet, but wants to, and in this dream he has them all mastered. If you look closely, you'll notice there are a lot of little critters around, primarily of the reptilian variety. They slither and crawl around placidly, and will allow Diego and any visitors to pick them up without a fuss.
Every once in a while he checks his pocket to make sure something important is still there.
Imaginary NPCs: There's another campsite at a distance that Diego insists his mothers and sisters are in. You can hear them laughing, and Johanna is playing some classic rock that she showed Diego when she first introduced him to no-maj music. If pressed for details, Diego's pretty sure Pippa might be there too, and Mina's girlfriend is visiting. Who is Mina's girlfriend? Diego gives a different name almost every time, but a couple times he'll claim it's Riley.
Diego will readily explain he's waiting for Ravi, who went to do... well, it depends. Diego says he's doing homework a lot. Or he's at LARP. Or he's duelling someone. Or he's treating a patient. But he'll be here any minute now.
Accessibility: You can stop by, but I'm going to be busy with mod things, sooo let me know if you want an important scene with Diego. Otherwise I'll be keeping things sparse for a couple days. Plus, Diego's dream doesn't reveal anything new about him. You all knew he was this embarrassing.

Asher Guthrie
Set the scene: A calm, mundane city life.
How do they see themselves?: Exactly the same - there is nothing odd about this version of Asher at all. He arguably looks a little older, but it’s hard to tell.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: A revolving door into a skyscraper that stretches skyward, seemingly into infinity.
Describe the setting: A rooftop patio, maybe 15 stories up, in a city that's some strange mix of New York City and what appears to be San Diego. The Pacific Ocean laps at the beach that this rooftop looks out over, while the view from the opposite side boasts a lush park nestled among towering skyscrapers reflecting the bright blue of the sky. It smells like the ocean and it's cool outside, and while the sun adds a nice bit of warmth you always feel not too hot and not too cold. The patio is large, impossibly so when you don’t want to go from one side to the other to take in the sights. There’s a table with an umbrella and chairs, plus softer, reclining chairs for relaxing. There are plants. There’s a fire pit. Going down the staircase into the building leaves you in what appears to be an editor's office with a large, heavy desk covered in papers and photographs (both magical and Muggle) and pots of ink and quills and pens and press passes... you get the idea. Asher seems happy and has probably never looked this stress free in his life. He constantly flits between writing in a notebook, looking at the ocean, looking at the city, and talking quietly with Casper. Sometimes he’s on the phone, but he’ll always politely end the call if you need him.
Imaginary NPCs: Casper is there, a slightly less surly version of himself, mostly because he looks almost happy. It's not a far cry from his usual self otherwise, as he doesn’t smile a lot and he’s not exactly friendly. He and Asher are clearly dating or something more, but their interactions are all very subtle – light touches of hands, standing close to one another, a rare, quick kiss. His parents and Aiden also blip in and out of existence, and they're much the same as they are in real life except Aiden is much peppier. The phone rings every so often. If you pick it up you'll almost always hear Ravi's voice. Occasionally it will be Zav or Jeremy or Isaiah. Every once in a while you’ll get Seraphina. She sounds happy and friendly, and not like she wants anything from Asher.
Accessibility: Anyone is welcome! Asher is a private person but this part of him is oddly not closed off. I’ll be in and out and focusing on rescuer stuff when that goes up tomorrow, but feel free to visit if you’d like and I’ll try to respond!

Isaiah Covington
Set the scene: Isaiah plays a lot of music, is not really bothered by anyone unless he really wants to be.
How do they see themselves?: Isaiah is mostly the same, although he's dressed in a jacket and tie. His hands are a little more elegant, long-fingered and fine, although that's the sort of thing you'd have to be sort of a stalker to notice.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: Shockingly, it's the entrance to a concert hall.
Describe the setting: A concert hall, the seats immaculate and plush, everything made of gleaming wood, and the most gleaming of all is the grand piano on stage. Where backstage ought to be, there's a music room much like the one at Gooseberry, only it contains every instrument imaginable without seeming full despite its small, intimate size. The acoustics in both of these places are perfect.
Imaginary NPCs: Nope. Isaiah likes his solitude.
Accessibility: Ribbonfins (esp. Ribbongents) and a few select others are welcome. If you're not sure if you would be, you're probably not (but feel free to ask.)

Ty Hawkeswood
Set the scene: Life is a journey, not a destination! Ty's dream is focused on wanting to see and experience the world and wanting to share that with people. He appears to be making a long trip via train.
Who needs the Floo Network? How do they see themselves?: Ty appears mostly unchanged apart from the fact that he looks a little older, possibly in his mid-twenties, and his bleached hair has returned to its natural state: brunette and slightly wavy. He only ever dyed his hair to better fit into his family but apparently that's no longer a concern.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: The sliding door to a train compartment.
Describe the setting: Ty is sitting in a small but comfortable train compartment while a scenic view rushes by outside. The view is lovely and the ride is smooth and the atmosphere is very relaxed. There's a suitcase in the luggage rack overhead and a beautiful old book in front of him on a small folding desk. As the pages are turned, the content and the language of the book seem to change, but this never seems to bother Ty, who is obviously pleased with his latest find as a buyer and seller of books. At times, he is bent over this book, reading it thoughtfully or jotting down notes about it. At different times, he sets it aside so he can look out the window or doze or write letters or postcards to his absent friends (most notably Rafael, Hazel, Vee, Leo, and Chris). He doesn't have to write anything to Quinn because she's right there with him!
If asked where he's going or what he's reading, Ty will blissfully give a different answer every time.
Imaginary NPCs: Quinn, also in her mid-twenties, is traveling with Ty on his endless trip. She is her normal clever, snarky, wonderful self and Ty looks at her like she's the only person in the world. She is, of course!, an accomplished Healer by now. Though, anyone that actually knows anything about healing will notice that her commentary on the subject is....ill-informed since it's based on Ty's knowledge and perceptions rather than those of the actual Quinn.
Accessibility: Anyone can visit Ty's dream and he'll happily talk to them!

Laurel Templeton
Set the scene: All this world's a stage.
How do they see themselves?: Laurel is basically Oberon. She's wearing an idealized, somehow even more golden version of her outfit from Midsummer Night's Dream last fall. She's also taller, maybe slightly more androgynous looking, and sometimes looks a bit like an elf from LOTR.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: Big double doors, as though you're entering a theater.
Describe the setting: It's a beautiful, ornate theater space -- somewhat like this. The air is full of floating candles. There's a stage with a shifting backdrop/props/setting -- sometimes a city, sometimes Gooseberry, sometimes a forest. The mood and feel is very much like the Opening Night of a play, except there isn't one. It's just Laurel being Laurel.
She'll recite lines from things she knows, act out remembered scenes from various productions, and sometimes just tell stories or dance around. Aspects of the set change a little based on her whims. Whatever she does, the crowd laughs and applauds at the right times.
Imaginary NPCs: There are a lot of people imagined into the seats, doing what people do at shows. :) Ivy is definitely present more often than not, as well as other friends -- sometimes as beloved spectators in the front row, and sometimes on stage as very idealized versions of themselves.
Accessibility: Absolutely open. You can take a seat and observe Laurel's theatre brain. You can also get up on stage with her and be welcomed, but she may just say various lines instead of interacting normally.

;_; Sorry! It seemed like the thing to do.

Henrietta Gray
Set the scene: Etta gets back to the great outdoors, like she doesn't go to a camping school nine months of the year anyway.
How do they see themselves?: Etta is dressed in a simple summer hiking outfit, but her hair is done in the braids she had back in sophomore year, because why not? She liked having braids.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: There's a fissure in the rock by the base of the waterfall, just wide enough for an adventurous person to slip through.
Describe the setting: It's an amalgamation of everywhere Etta's been hiking and camping, and if you ignore the inconsistencies and impossibilities, you could take a million Pinterest-worthy photographs. Although it's predominantly forest, you can also see soaring mountains. There's a waterfall that splashes down into a river shallow enough to run through, where the rocks won't hurt your bare feet, but there's also a larger lake for swimming in with a little rowing boat pulled up onto the shoreline. Set up under the trees is a two-person tent with rucksacks tossed casually on the ground outside, and the start of a fire pit.
Imaginary NPCs: Etta's big sister Theo is here. Sometimes she suggests an activity to Etta, at other times she lets Etta take the lead.
Accessibility: This is mostly a private dream, but close friends could make their way in. I will respond to visitors!
Zoey Valentine
Set the scene: Zoey's Eternal Picnic.
How do they see themselves?: Z looks like Z. She's in a sundress, with combat boots, a floppy hat, and a lot of eyeliner on.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: You have to cross a bridge over a very blue creek.
Describe the setting: It's essentially an endless sunny meadow. The grass is high, there are wildflowers and butterflies and bugs. Sometimes a rabbit will hop by. The sky seems to go on forever and rolls with giant fluffy clouds. It's a little Ghibli-esque.
The feeling is extremely calm, sleepy even. Off in the distance, there sometimes appears to be a kind of utopian, sci-fi looking city, but Zoey never knows what it is. She's not sure at all where she is, in general, but doesn't seem to care very much.
She's lying on a gingham patterned blanket, with a picnic basket that seems to hold anything she could possibly desire (it's mostly a lot of champagne and various fruits). She has a pipe, but never seems to use it, and a pile of books that changes in variety based on random dream feelings/logic. Z alternates between reading, happily writing in a notebook, and just resting, staring off into the clouds. Occasionally she manifests her bass guitar and the most perfect amp in the world that somehow doesn't need electricity or a magical power source. This is not questionable to her at all. She also can be seen playing with various decks of tarot cards, or stirring fantastical potions, but with little to no urgency or concern about the process.
Imaginary NPCs: Sometimes other Ribbonfins, sometimes Ryan, sometimes her grandfather, sometimes weird dreamy versions of various philosophers. These people never stay for long -- they just sort of come sit down and say nice or clever things, then wander off. Her owl, Cayuga, is also sometimes present.
Accessibility: Z's dream is free and open! She takes visitors as guests and will treat them to various things from the picnic basket. She may try to give you a reading, but it won't make any sense whatsoever.

Xavier Lewis
Set the scene: Peace and quiet and symmetry and fish.
How do they see themselves?: Xavier is himself but a bit more and just slightly prettier, in general. Maybe a little elfin. His hair falls perfectly, and when he tosses it, it's just absurd. You may find that Xavier is a bit less gregarious than usual.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: A Ribbonfin cabin stands in the middle of the Rainbow River. Open the door, and you'll find the senior Ribbonfin boy's cabin, but it's full of dark water. Coral and aquatic plants grow over desks and beds and exotic fish swim between gently floating books, school supplies and his and his roommates' familiar possessions.
If you decide to enter, it's about what you'd expect, except you can breathe and don't actually get wet. On the far side of the room, where the fireplace should be, is a wall of glass. Touching it reveals that the glass is not truly solid - you can pass through it by applying a bit of pressure.
Describe the setting: Stepping out of the flooded Ribbongent cabin places you in a long, dark hallway, and although you are no longer submerged in water, it still sounds as though you are. The only thing you can hear is the dense, muddy slosh of water in your ears. It's pleasantly cool here, like stepping into a damp basement on a too hot day.
The hallway continues to the right, and it's immediately evident that this portion of Xavier's dream is an aquarium. Evenly spaced on either side of the hall are sets of thick glass windows, each featuring a different elaborate aquatic scene, some filled with creatures that probably don't even exist, others placed in familiar rooms - one is a miniature version of the atrium, where, at one table, Xavier's roommates sit playing cards, and at another, his friends are playing Dungeons & Dragons, all of them apparently ignorant to the fact that they're underwater. One tank is definitely just full of sharp angled numbers - it's a little weird. There are long benches down the center of the hall, placed for leisurely fishwatching. You get the impression that you could step into any of these displays if you wanted.
To the left is a stairway made of falling water. Ascending spits you out into the middle of Lake Gooseberry. Here, it's hot and the air is heavy with a green smell, like late summer. This is where you'll find Xavier, content and sunning himself in a canoe, wearing a pair of thick headphones. A swan floats nearby, and Xavier occasionally leans over to engage it in conversation it seems happy to participate in.
The surrounding shore is mostly familiar, although the trees don't seem right for Gooseberry, and the mountains are less extreme - more gently rolling and covered in a thick blanket of greenery. It's as much Appalachia as it is Utah. On the beach, there's a crackling bonfire and what looks like a taco stand. His sister is behind the counter. She's playing with a cell phone.
Imaginary NPCs: While there's nothing blurry about the faces or forms of the people in Xavier's dream, speaking to them proves to be a challenge, because they all sound as though they are underwater. Xavier seems to understand every word, however. Residents are his friends - senior Ribbonfins (whose voices come through most clearly), Quidditch team, LARPers, D&D players, Mercy and Ursula and Jesse and Diego - they go about their business, moving between tanks or heading up to the lake and can be seen walking across the water to the shore. The swan is the one being that doesn't sound like he's underwater when he trills or honks, but he doesn't seem interested in assuming his human form or engaging anyone but Xavier.
Accessibility: Anyone can stop by. Xavier's willingness to chat is debatable. (Also, I apologize for this)

Re: Gabi styles hair.
Gabi styles hair.
Rafael Ramirez
Set the scene: Soooo Rafael never actually got over his dead dance career.
How do they see themselves?: Rafael doesn't look significantly different, but he's back down to the level of fit he was when he was aiming for professional ballet. Extremely thin and nothing but wiry muscle. He's dressed ready for a ballet performance, and his hair is effortlessly perfect and that little strand isn't falling into his eyes for once. Most importantly, his knee is just fine. It's always been fine.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: You descend a narrow staircase and pass through a curtain backstage at a grand theater.
Describe the setting: Backstage in a grand performance hall, the dressing room is buzzing with activity as everyone hurries to get ready. The show is always perpetually just about to start, apparently, and everyone has a job. Performers are stretching and having the final touches done on their makeup, crew is rushing around. It appears chaotic, but there's obvious order, as everyone knows what their job is and how to do it. If you watch it for a long time, it appears very much like a dance.
Rafael is sitting at his mirror backstage, and although he's only a dancer, people seem to be taking orders from him as though he were in charge of the entire performance. He greets visitors as though they're either fellow dancers, crew, or visiting well-wishers.
Imaginary NPCs: Yes, and in fact, everyone backstage is someone Rafael likes. Either they're a dancer, or they're crew, or makeup, or technicians. The closer they are to Rafael, the larger their role is. Their faces are crystal clear, but the voices of people Rafael doesn't know as well are unintelligible. His friends are more defined, but very confident versions of themselves. They all have a bit of Rafael's arrogance and steel to them, and are all uniformly competent and on top of their eternal responsibilities.
The only exception is Leo, who lingers near Rafael in long, dark robes and a handsome suit. He's the head of the Auror office of somewhereorother, and he's extremely successful. Leo is respected and admired by all, and he's here to wish Rafael luck before going on stage. The bouquet resting on Rafael's station must be from him. When Rafael and Leo speak, it's in perfect Spanish. Although Rafael's supposed to go on stage very soon, they converse intensely or kiss with no signs of needing to be anywhere else.
Accessibility: Anyone can visit, but Rafael is Very Busy and also periodically making out with Leo. Anyone who enters the dream can assume their backstage double disappeared for the time being.
Laurel
Ryan Hertz
Set the scene: Ryan hangs out at Chris' mom's house because it's really his only real idea of "home" and it's really important mom meets Z.
How do they see themselves?: Ryan looks pretty much the same, albeit maybe a little happier than some at school have ever seen him. This isn't a reflection of how he sees himself, because if it were then he'd look hideous let's be real, it's more in how he feels when there that is showing in the dream. He doesn't have to hide.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: A pair of ornate French doors that look like they came straight out of the palace in Versailles (hint: they did)
Describe the setting: It's Chris' mom's house, but it's the way Ryan sees it in his head so it seems like it has infinite space and infinite warmth. There's sunlight coming in from every window, the place is fresh and inviting, there's even a smell of something baking/being made wafting around to give it that comfortable and 'aaah I'm home' air.
There's not much more going on. People who might visit can explore different rooms, or watch Ryan read, or talk to Chris' mom. Or play with Sylvain.
Imaginary NPCs: Chris' mom is there, and she will try to adopt/mother you. Chris is there, still with resting grump face but also more relaxed and welcoming because that's what Ryan sees. Z is there, because she HAS to meet mom. It's very important.
Accessibility: Anyone may visit, but Ryan might not be receptive to everyone. I'll respond to anyone, though! I'm open to random ♥
Jesse McBride
Set the scene: Jesse revels in the successes of his loved ones over a pint or ten in a lively Irish pub.
How do they see themselves?: A slightly older, more stylish, and athletic version of his current self. The baby fat on his cheeks has melted away. He's taller and broader around the shoulders. His clothes change from casual to semi-formal depending on what he's doing or who he is interacting with but they're always comfortable and well-tailored. He's clean shaven and, for once, he doesn't have razor burn or acne. He perceives himself as more attractive than he does in his waking life and he senses that the people in his dream find him attractive too. His natural man musk smells GREAT and not at all like hot salami.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: The entrance to a generic Irish pub. You can't quite make out the name above the door but you know it anyway.
Describe the setting: A classic pub with dark wood panelling and emerald green accents. It's crowded but you always have enough room to move around. The interior is impossibly large and perfectly cozy at the same time. There are pool tables, dart boards, and beer pong tables (which somehow do not feel out of place). A stage where live music is being played, sometimes by Jesse and his friends. There are TV screens showing live hockey, baseball, quidditch, and football. The streets outside are familiar South Buffalo avenues, the lanes immediately surrounding Quinn's family home in Hamilton, and the bustling boulevards of DC all at the same time.
Everyone in the bar knows everyone else. They're your neighbors and relatives and best friends. Drinks flow freely and Jesse rings a big brass bell above the speed well over and over, buying rounds for the house, but no one ever becomes too drunk. Despite the fact that most people in the pub are from Gooseberry, Jesse knows this isn't a high school party. This is a random weekday night down at the local.
His own successes and failures are rarely on his mind. He knows he is an accomplished theoretical physicist but it's not really important. Throughout the night, he interacts with all his dearest friends at various stages of their lives. One moment, Quinn is walking through the doors, still in her Healer's robes with a 'Good God! You'll never believe my day' look on her face. The next, she's jumping up from her stool as the Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup over the Sabres. She shoves him hard and he falls off his seat, but it doesn't hurt and he lays there laughing until she helps him up.
Levi and Cecil are middle aged and married. They never say so, but he knows. Then, Levi is on the TV playing professional quidditch. He's young—straight out of high school. Every time Jesse looks up at the TV screen, Levi is scoring another goal. Wes and Diego join Jesse on stage. Wes riffs on his guitar for what feels like eons and the perfect amount of time. There are fans waiting for him outside. Diego sings a love song to someone across the room—he's proud and not at all embarrassed. Ree is at Jesse's side when he decides he wants to play beer pong and they never lose.
Ivy is always somewhere nearby: sitting at the end of the bar reading, chatting with the surly old bartender about random silly facts, dancing with Laurel, painting. She never twirls her hair around her fingers anxiously or swallows her tongue. Whenever he looks for her, she is right there.
Imaginary NPCs: Jesse's parents, sisters, maternal grandparents, and his surrogate grandfather, Mr. O'Doole, are all vaguely present. Childhood friends from South Buffalo flit in and out, as well. The most prominent figures are his Gooseberry peers and nearly everyone makes an appearance in some capacity, especially the Senior Azurgents, Quinn, Ree, Wes, Zav, and Ivy. Everyone Jesse interacts with is living their very best life (from Jesse's perspective) and they're all still in close contact with one another, regardless of their age.
Accessibility: Anyone can pass through! I'll try to respond to everyone.

Sun-mi Choi
Set the scene: Dancing with dragons and loved ones.
How do they see themselves?: Basically the same. Sun-mi is dressed in a heroic princely outfit similar to what she wore at prom complete with black leather leggings and pointe shoes. All of the fabric is impossibly flexible.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: A large brightly painted door with dragons carved around the frame. Anyone who enters freefalls through the sky and safely lands on the back of a dragon.
Describe the setting: A flock of dragons flies high above the ground, the earth below rapidly changing between many scenes, most notably the ocean, the volcanic mountain range of Sun-mi's home, and Gooseberry. Sun-mi stands prominently on the back of a dragon as she performs a dance, leaping without hesitation from the back of one dragon to another.
Imaginary NPCs: Etta appears most prominently, always flying somewhere nearby on her broomstick, performing her own daredevilry. She appears to be an essential part of the choreography, hanging off the side of her broom to lift Sun-mi when needed, or swooping in at the last moment to catch her during a leap. At times, Etta disappears and is replaced with an uninjured Rafael and they perform a more traditional piece together. Friends and family appear riding on the backs of other dragons. Sometimes they're focused on watching Sun-mi perform, other times they're busy laughing amongst themselves. Ravi is always somewhere nearby and Diego appears by his side more often than not. The rest of the senior Ribbonfins are all there and there's notably no tension between any of the girls and Diego.
Accessibility: Anyone can visit, though Sun-mi will be difficult for most to pull into conversation, as she's busy with her performance. Dream counterparts will temporarily vanish during the stay of any visitors.
Sun-mi & Etta
JUNIORS
Lachlan Galbraith
Set the scene: An idealized fantasy version of school life where Lachlan's family situation is perfect, all the people he wants to be with him are with him, and he's a much more impressive student and wizard. It's good to be the golden boy.
How do they see themselves?: Lachlan's appearance is subtly improved with all of his insecurities erased; he's a little taller and a little more fit and his hair is a little neater. There's no gap in his teeth. He's dressed in his uniform and it's effortlessly pristine.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: The door to the Azurcrest junior boys' cabin.
Describe the setting: Lachlan's dream is set in an idealized, exaggerated, fantastic version of the cabin he resides in at Azurcrest. The room is larger and the expanses of wall that now exist between the different beds are lined with bookshelves stuffed full of academic texts that are perfectly organized. The room also has larger windows that allow ample sunshine to pour into the room and living trees seem to be growing out of the walls in places, their branches stretching out into the room. Birds sit on the leafy branches and chirp merry little songs, often led by Sig. Reece, Lachlan, Jaime, and Oz's belongings all occupy their bunks like normal, but the other is filled with belongings that Lachlan can recognize as being Gabriel's.
In the midst of this space, Lachlan is busy studying at his desk. Everything comes to him more easily than it does in real life, though, and there doesn't seem to be any spell that's beyond his ability. On the corkboard above his desk, there are photos of his family, his friends, and Gabriel. There are also letters from home (written with words of pride and love from his parents), a list of Utah birds that is fully marked off, and plans for an elaborate and impressive independent study he's apparently working on.
Imaginary NPCs: Ms. Vector will show up at times to talk to him about his independent study and how very impressed she is with his work! Younger students, vague and unrecognizable as real people, also show up to ask him for help with their homework. Apart from them, his roommates (Reece, Jaime, Oz, and Gabriel) also make appearances and, at times, manage to pull him away from his books to play a game or otherwise hang out as a tightly-knit group of roomies. He'll also have a fair amount of romantic time one-on-one with Gabriel, who successfully transferred to Gooseberry to be with him. While most of his friends act like themselves, there does seem to be an underlying sense of them being impressed by Lachlan and all he's accomplishing. Because he likes feeling validated and having his ego stroked.
Accessibility: Lachlan's dream is accessible to visitors, though it may be difficult to pull him from his studies or his work at times unless the character is a friend or someone that Lachlan respects.
Nia Papadakis
Set the scene: Nia sells flowers. Come buy some.
How do they see themselves?: It's Nia, just as she always looks. Her dress seems new, though.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: Pass through a curtain of wisteria, down a long wooden terrace framed by blooming lilac shrubs that opens into a quaint storefront.
Describe the setting:
Bright and warm and a bit humid, Nia's dream is half forest cottage, half beach bungalow. The way the little red brick and wood store is framed by green life gives the impression that this is the only bit of civilization in the entire universe. Everything is bright and vivid, colors almost bleeding, as though someone got a little carried away with the saturation setting. Hermit crabs scuttle between flowering plants and across the path leading up to the store. They pop like bubbles when you touch them, emitting a few notes of strange but not unpleasant music.
A bell jingles when you open the door, and you're immediately hit with the smell of flowers. The brightly lit interior is stuffed to bursting with fresh cut flowers, bouquets, arrangements and hanging baskets, and yet somehow there's still plenty of room to move and breathe. The room is bisected by a green, marble topped counter. The floor is an eclectic checkered tile, some of the tiles are patterned, others are solid colors. Some of them emit musical notes when you step on them.
Nia mans the counter. Behind her, a beautiful young woman flirts with a slightly older man. From the back room comes the sound of girls talking and occasionally shrieking with laughter - probably her roommates.
Like music being piped in through speakers, you can hear the sound of a woman humming a lullaby.
Imaginary NPCs:
Most prominent is Nia's mother, looking a bit like she was cut from an old picture. She's young, barely older than Nia, and her colors are more muted. The features of her face, while undeniably beautiful, are distorted, a bit smeared, like water damage on a photograph. Nia's father is also there, less gray-haired than usual and certainly, undeniably happy. When he laughs, it fills the whole store.
From time to time, customers come in to purchase bouquets or individual flowers. They're barely more than human-shaped pastel smudges, generally, but one or another may be vaguely recognizable as a student or teacher from Gooseberry.
Accessibility: Nia's dream is open and I will respond.

Riley Mae Stamper
Set the scene: Welcome to Candyland. It's surprisingly rural.
How do they see themselves?:
Riley is an even more over the top version of herself. Her hair shifts colors from blue to pink to orange to green to blonde (and beyond). It sparkles. She sparkles. She has a great butt, and it’s not just because she’s wearing bangin’ heels. She also has fairy wings, and they’re hella shiny.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: A sheer, flowy curtain with lights twinkling throughout, not terribly unlike this, but the lights shift between several colors.
Describe the setting:
Riley lounges in a canopy bed in the middle of a beach. It’s sunny, with a light breeze. The weather is very southern Californian, but the scenery is very Alaskan. There are huge mountains in the distance, and the beach is
rocky, with sharp cliffs and choppy waves and it smells so familiar.
It’s not clear what time of day it is. It’s twilight in her bed, with a full color Aurora Borealis filling the sky overhead. A little way behind her, the beach gives away to an open field, where it’s midday and the sun is shining. There are houses on the other side of the field, but they’re distant and undefined, and are basically just where her dream NPCs originate from.
Literally everything here is edible and tastes like candy. You’re in Willy Wonka’s Tasting Room.
Imaginary NPCs:
People run around on the beach, climb the rocks, watch the clouds and the Aurora Borealis from the field. Everyone is taller than her and waves, happy to see her. They pet her head, because she’s a fucking lapdog, or kiss her on the forehead, or pull her up in a big, warm hug. Her family is around, though they mostly only show up with presents for Riley (Angel brings booze, Shayne has shiny clothes for her to wear, her dad brings a puppy, etc). Everyone is gorgeous, and several of the people who wander through are even more attractive versions of Gooseberry students. Ms. Acuña is also there, because, shockingly, Riley has the hots for her.
Accessibility: Anyone can visit, and Riley will happily bounce and dance and play with the hair of anyone who comes by. Meaning I will reply to everyone, come playyyyy.

Casey Patterson
Set the scene:
He who controls the spice controls the universe.Casey has control of tapletop game, life. How do they see themselves?: Little has changed. He's a bit older (precisely 21), dressed in loose jeans and no shirt. His behaviour and mannerisms are what's different: he's happy and charismatic with no uncertainty about where he stands in relation to the people around him. He doesn't become defensive, combative, or rude. And he isn't making out with everybody in sight. Weird.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: A larger-than-life book cover with the male protagonist cut out. You can always walk through even when you're not striking that fancy pose.
Describe the setting: The atrium. It's big and small at the same time, well lit and warmed by the sun shining in through the windows. Casey sits at the head of a large table with six more chairs around it, each a big, squishy, comfortable arm chair. A game of Dungeons & Dragons is being played on the table, its world created with wooden pieces fitted together. The 'world' and its figurines are painted in bright colours and a semi-realistic style that makes them look like they came from a comic book.
All six seats are always taken, and if someone enters the dream, one of the players excuses themselves and offers the newcomer their spot at the table. Who's sitting in the seats changes often and depends on the conversation Casey is having with the visitor. Usually it's some combination of his waking D&D party (Ennis, Ivy, Rafael, Jacob, Robin, and Xavier), his cabin, his friends (Riley, Cameron, and the Mean Girls), Cricket, Rosy, and his family members.
The board shifts depending on the conversation and how Casey feels. When he needs to make a decision he rolls dice, but they always end favourably. The board often rearranges to the trails around Gooseberry, or to show familiar hallways in the lodge. It's fluid and unfixed.
Outside the limits of the play area, shifting in and out of view, is Gaming Club: sometimes figures crowd around what is probably a television, other times around board games. The features of both the people and games are indistinguishable, but when you look at them you know that they're enjoying themselves. When things in the dream are quiet, their laughter can be heard.
Imaginary NPCs: Listed above, the people in Casey's dream announce their next moves, roll dice, and move the figures on the board (that always look like them, but different). They don't interact with the conversations Casey has while he chats with visitors even though the nature of the game will shift with convertopicssation. Once in a while he and Rosy share a sultry glance, but no more.
Accessibility: Casey's dream is open to all and, IC, welcomes all. I'll respond.
Laurel (and Casey, if you waant)~
Addy Foster-Hayes
Set the scene: Addy's on a road trip. IT'S WEIRD.
How do they see themselves?: She looks like she belongs in the convertible. Her hair is longer, wilder. She has big sunglasses and a scarf that blows in the wind but never blows off.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: When you want it to, the car will stop, and a door to an old-fashioned red convertible will open.
Describe the setting: Addy's in a car. It's red, and a convertible, but since she knows nothing about cars, the shape, make, and model of this one shifts. The seats are white leather. It's travelling everywhere. The scenery outside shifts every few minutes. First the beach, a mountain range, driving through a forest, a city...sometimes it's even through the ocean or through space. (IT'S A DREAM!) There's no real destination, but always the heady feeling that you're just about to get there. It's going fast. Obviously above the speed limit. It never matters.
The car stops from time to time to let people in or out, but guests also just appear and disappear. Addy's usually driving, but sometimes the car seems to go by itself so that she can chat animatedly with guests that pop in and out. There's always so much to talk about. There's definitely an emphasis on the conversations, and the scenery. There's lots of snacks. It's all very laid-back.
Imaginary NPCs: There's backseat guests almost constantly, both her family and her Gooseberry friends. As previously stated, they kind of just come and go, with no real reason as to why they're there. They all talk animatedly, excitedly. They're all her friends and family. They all look the same, and they're all doing so well. Her older sister's going to be the president. All her couple friends are engaged and she squeals over their rings. All of her roommates and other friends appear from time to time and tell her how they've accomplished so much in their professional and personal lives.
More conspicuously, her ex-boyfriend is in the front seat. He's never cheated and he holds her hand sometimes, and they're happy.

Avery Davenport
Set the scene: An ultimately happy but strange scene of both her parents and her adopted parents blending as one happy family at a nondescript Quidditch Pitch.
How do they see themselves?: Avery has some subtle changes and some more noticeable ones. She's a bit shorter, more "average girl" height than her actual height. She's got more curves than she actually does. Her hair is a bit nicer, her face a little more feminine and symmetrical. She's absolutely recognizable but she's more typically girly than her actual appearance.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: Feeling free and open is more enticing than anything else for Avery, so her doorway isn't a door, it's an open entryway
Describe the setting: Once you're through the open archway, you walk down a small but well defined path through the grass and wildflowers to a beautiful but non-descript Quidditch pitch. There seems to be a constant game going on, sometimes with Avery playing and other times not. The stands are always full of people - all her friends, favorite teachers, etc, as well as a ton of "random" people to fill up all the stands. Both her birth parents and Olivia's parents are there. Olivia is there as well, all standing together on the pitch, chatting and laughing and interacting with dream Avery.
Imaginary NPCs: Basically the entirety of GB is there. Faces you see more are any of Avery's friends (Bianca, Chris, all the Jr Fin girls, her Qid teammates) etc. Olivia is clearly defined and always there, as well as their parents and Avery's birth parents.
Accessibility: Yes, anyone can enter the dream. Come on in, guys!
Avery & Etta

Avery & Etta
Vee Powers
Set the scene: Vee's happy place is a beach party with all her friends and some mermaids.
How do they see themselves?: Vee looks about the same out of the water. Maybe her hair is braided Nia-style on point, but otherwise she hasn't changed much. In the water, though, she definitely has a mermaid tail. #goals (It's purple, btw)
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: A gorgeous lagoon bordered by some cool palm trees and tropical flowers. It looks like one of those cool rides where the trees and flowers seem to make a canopy over it, but the water is a gorgeous turquoise instead of the dark it should be under all that shade and there seems to be a shimmer and light to everything. The beach and ocean and sun in the distance are also incredibly visible. You can walk through on a bridge or swim in!
Describe the setting: This is, unsurprisingly, a huge beach party. It's idyllic in that the sun is the perfect shine, with a few fluffy white clouds strategically placed in the impossible blue to accentuate the scene but not steal your rays. Oddly, the clouds do seem to be sparkling, as if made of silver/white glitter, but nobody seems to think it's weird to have glitter in the sky.
The sand on the beach also carries a sparkle, and is a light color that adds to the scene and won't burn feet when walking over it. There's large umbrellas, more palm trees with vibrant flowers, and people milling everywhere. Noticeably in the water are mermaids, tails flashing out of the waves before diving back under. They don't look like mermaids in real life, however. They look like Disney mermaids, which is what Vee imagines when she imagines her mermaid life. And just like in that life, when Vee is in the water playing with her friends or the mermaids themselves, she also looks like that (don't judge her)
There's music drifting from somewhere, and a place where people can dance. There's also a section for beach volleyball, and a variety of games anyone might want to play. Every piece of equipment is shiny, though, because Vee is a glitter queen. #sorrynotsorry There's a Tiki bar set up too, serving a variety of beverages and food. Lastly, there is definitely a section of sand castles and even one for sand cheerleading. ;) Nobody is unhappy or causing trouble, and the only worry is if the breeze will get too high and blow over umbrellas (spoiler: it won't)
Imaginary NPCs: All of her friends are there (especially the seniors she doesn't want to let go of yet) So expect to see Ty and Diego and Jeremy and Z for sure, although sorry Jeremy there will be a smile on your face in her dream! All her Ebongirls (who are looking so legit and fierce and beautiful because she LOVES THEM MOST are very prevalent and in obvious spots of honor because they appear so much and so prominently) and Ebonboys, Avery, Riley, Casey, Jaime, Sofia, Kenzie, Addy. SO MANY CHARACTERS GUYS, really. Most notable people-wise, though, is that Oz is not only there, but there with her. Nothing gross, but we know from experience she's not afraid to be a little mushy and gross, so hand holding and subtle touches and random kisses. Piggy back rides. All of that!
Accessibility: Anyone is welcome! Please come play. I will respond! ♥
Ulysses Quayle
Set the scene: It's an EJB party and everyone Ulysses has ever loved is invited.
How do they see themselves?: He's a little older, a little taller, a little less scrawny, but mostly, Ulysses just looks like himself on his best day. He's wearing his uniform with the sleeves rolled up. The tie is crooked. He looks comfortable.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: Nothing special. A door.
Describe the setting: It's the Ebonhide junior boys cabin. Sort of. The geometry of the room must not be right, because there's a familiar, cozy sort of air, but somehow, despite the impossible number of guests, it never gets crowded. The scene outside the windows shifts every time you look at it. Sometimes, it's the Quidditch pitch. Sometimes, it's his backyard. Sometimes, it's Cricket's bedroom. Sometimes, it's a hotel swimming pool from a vacation the Quayles went on when he was 5. Sometimes, it's the woods.
All the people are sitting in a circle, chatting warmly. There's a lot of laughter, but also sighs and groans and huffs as everyone teases and bickers. No one's feelings are ever really hurt. Everything Ulysses says is perfectly charming and clever. Wilde's emergency flask is being passed around, and Ulysses raises it to his mouth. Before he can take a swig, he's distracted by some stupid joke and, drink forgotten, passes the flask on again to make another lap. He'll get it the next time. He doesn't need help to relax.
Imaginary NPCs: Casper, Cameron, Iliya, Wilde, Kenzie, and Cricket are all there in crisp technicolor, sitting on the floor with him. He's cross legged and leaning back, braced on one arm. Kenzie is on his left. Their fingers brush. Then, their knees bump. A few cycles in, and Kenzie is leaning against him... or maybe he's leaning on her? They shift around a few times, but more often than not, his head ends up on her shoulder.
Tons of other people pass though (including Nia, Vee, Maggie, Dahlia, Leo, Solo, his older brother Alo...), joining and leaving the circle. It's not that they get up and go, just that every time Ulysses remembers one of them, they're in the room, as if they always have been. Usually, they're on Ulysses' other side, and there's often an element of physical affection — Leo squeezes his shoulder, Maggie ruffles his hair... Ulysses is certain his parents are just outside.
And the animals! The cabin is always a menagerie, but today, it's Noah's Arc. In addition to Sid and Yo-yo and Elvis and Rex, His Highness makes an appearance, as does Cricket's cat, Kitty, and yes, even Clem's rat, Buttons. Two Irish Wolfhounds, the Quayle family dogs, wander in and out, occasionally stopping to nose Ulysses good-naturedly or lick his face. If the real Cricket was here, she'd notice their Andalusian horses, Champ and Minnie. Nothing about this strikes Ulysses as odd.
Accessibility: It's very open and I'll respond.

Ursula de Luca
Set the scene: Ursula relives a childhood trip to Kennywood and is a princess aboard a pirate ship.
How do they see themselves?: Ursula appears as a young girl of maybe 5 or 6 years old. She was clearly allowed to dress herself and unsurprisingly a princess dress has found its way into the ensemble. She's considerably less guarded and image conscious than usual and though she appears young, she still speaks and understands as a 17 year old girl.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: You step into the cable car of the Mt. Washington incline and take a short ride up the side of a mountain. The scenery flickers as you move along the mountainside and through the portal. Sometimes it's downtown Pittsburgh. Sometimes it's Kennywood. Sometimes it's an idealized fairy tale princess castle atop a far off mountain. Sometimes it's a combination of all three.
Describe the setting: Ursula rides the swinging pirate ship at Kennywood amusement park. The park only somewhat resembles its real life counterpart as all the attractions have been conveniently relocated to make them a quick dash away and every line is suddenly empty when you want to go on a ride. (And the ride never stops until you want to get off.) The smell of fried food hangs heavily in the air and the vendors are more than happy to give away anything you want.
Imaginary NPCs: Two adults sit nearby on the ship, presumably Ursula's parents. They're very happy and in love and dote on Ursula excessively. Two other young girls are seated across from Ursula and they seem to shift between getting along and bickering. Could they be... Coralee and Rosy? Sometimes a boy appears at Rosy's side, often looking like he just got into a scrap. It's probably Sy. When the smell of the nearby concessions becomes too enticing, everyone flickers off the swinging ship and relocates to a nearby concessions picnic table to enjoy all manner of fried foods and sugary drinks. Then they reappear on the ship, or someone suggests taking a ride on the Jack Rabbit or the Wave Swinger, but no one ever shows the slightest sign of nausea.

SOPHOMORES
Calvin Evercreech
Set the scene: Calvin's confused, and so is his dream world.
How do they see themselves?: Calvin has trouble with his appearance, but doesn't really know what he'd want to do about it, or even how to imagine himself differently. He looks about the same as ever. He's wearing a uniform that borrows pieces from Hogwarts and Gooseberry. It's lucky for him that both of his houses liked green. The snake or fish on his uniform has been replaced by an eel, and he's wearing a Head Boy badge.
What does the entrance/exit to their dream look like?: You open a large castle door, and end up in a strange courtyard.
Describe the setting: Calvin's dream is a strange mismatched amalgamation of Hogwarts, Gooseberry, and a few other places as well. The courtyard has sections that are an ancient castle, but then they change into rustic log cabin style architecture. The Rainbow River runs right past the courtyard, but there's an unfamiliar old stone bridge going over it that doesn't line up properly with any of the columns of this courtyard. It's even clipping through one of them. There are pine trees growing directly out of the buildings, like something didn't load correctly. In fact, the whole area looks a little like a glitched video game, with all the different settings crashing into one another. A section of the scenery in the distance is definitely not the mountains of Utah or the Scottish highlands, but the countryside near where Calvin lives. The tallest tower of Hogwarts Lodge looks like a very old, slightly shabby townhouse, with a shop underneath and a flat above: Calvin's home.
Chunks of the area disappear and are replaced periodically, especially when Calvin looks up from his conversation with Damon. It makes the whole place look a little unstable and hard to keep track of, as new elements wink in and out of existence. Calvin seems to notice when something isn't loading, so to speak, but doesn't care too much.
There's also a light, misty rain, and everything is shining and wet. It's pleasantly chilly.
Imaginary NPCs: The place is populated by a number of students milling about, some of whom are kind of familiar, but most are unimportant window dressing. They all seem to think Calvin is GREAT though, and if you try to talk to them they'll tell you all about how smart and talented Calvin is. The only consistently defined figure is Dimi, who Calvin will be talking to eagerly beneath a large shared umbrella when no one is trying to get his attention.
Sometimes you might catch clearer glimpses of other people Calvin is close to, like Ree (Gryffindor), Micah (Ravenclaw) or Cole (Ravenclaw), and amongst many familiar sophomores. Calvin has sorted them all into Hogwarts houses in his head based on his perception of them, and maybe if I get the time I'll Calvinsort everyone, but don't hold your breath. They won't parrot the empty praise of their vague-faced peers, but will instead behave more or less like themselves. Just versions of themselves that really, really think Calvin is brilliant.
Accessibility: Just like with Diego, I'm busy for the first couple days of the event. :( However, Calvin's dream is less private so let me know if you want to talk to him! And after the event really gets going I'd love to engage more people with Calvin!
