WHO: Tess and Frankie Noble
WHAT: Tess has a gift for Frankie
WHEN: March, 2014
WHERE: Quidditch pitch

Tess touched down lightly the ground, and easily shifted her broom into her hands and over her shoulder. It felt good to fly again. She didn’t do it nearly enough anymore.

“That was great! Seriously, maybe it runs in the family, because you’re doing really well. That dive was really good too, just try not to… hit the ground and die,” she said, unable to keep from pestering her sister. It’s not like she meant to be overprotective, it was practically a reflex.

Frank’s own dismount wasn’t nearly as graceful, steps stumbling a bit, and she was still unsticking long strands of hair from her chapstick when Tess started talking - bright, encouraged grin going crooked and eyes rolling skyward.

“I’m deaf, not blind,” she snorted. “I’m not just gonna nosedive into the grass.”

Well, probably. Chances were strongly against it, at least.

“Got something for you,” Tess said, as she walked towards the edge of the pitch.

The smile snuck it’s way back onto her face quickly enough, however, and she sped herself up to match her sister’s steps. “Anything good?”

“Nah,” Tess said with a grin. She set her broom against the fence and knelt down in front of her backpack, unzipping it and digging through the contents within. Finally, she pulled out a small package, wrapped in brown paper, handing it over to her sister without ceremony. Inside was what at first appeared to be an empty picture frame; the edges were gold, but the inside was just black.

“Oh! Hold on,” Tess said, then kneeled down again. She pulled out the object’s twin, and when she tilted it to look at it, her face appeared in Frankie’s frame. It was the set of two way mirrors Tess won in the talent show. She grinned at her sister through the glass.

“It’s… I know it’s silly,” Tess said, scratching the back of her neck and glancing up at a passing cloud. “You probably can’t wait to get rid of your scary big sister so you can drink and flirt and whatever.” She turned her gaze back to Frankie and smiled. “I just couldn’t think of anyone else I’d rather have the other mirror. You can keep me in your sock drawer if you want, but if you need me, I’ll be there.”
