Studying was a mistake.

How do you write an essay? Sy's been trying to teach me but he's so bad at it. If you also know how to do transfiguration that'd be great, because I can't explain this. I'm trying to tell him about all the laws of conjuration but it's just

I don't think I can do it.

We'll be at the library again tomorrow. Please help.

Forget the fuckin library, we are finishing this shit tonight. I can't be fuckin worrying about dumbass Transfiguration when I've got a game to prep for.

IT'S DUE ON FUCKIN TUESDAY REID

IF YOU FAIL OUT THIS YEAR EVEN US WINNING THE QUIDDITCH CUP WON'T SAVE YOU

[personal profile] browbeats 2016-10-17 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
This is starting to sound like an emergency situation. Reid, how much do you have done so far?
browbeats: (Default)

[personal profile] browbeats 2016-10-17 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
If you're that desperate, I might even give you some of my tips for fluffing your word count without actually adding any new information.
gdilevi: (/ that's not right)

[personal profile] gdilevi 2016-10-17 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Do you think they ever actually count the words? I just write really big and add plenty of space between words and lines.
browbeats: ((=) =|)

[personal profile] browbeats 2016-10-17 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Those are the obvious tricks. You need to be subtle about it; use bigger words, add in too many excessive parenthetical inserts (like an example of when this specific law was shown to be inevitable), just slightly adjust your margins so they're smaller than the traditionally accepted limits. Perfect for when you only feel like giving 80%
gdilevi: (Default)

[personal profile] gdilevi 2016-10-17 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
But what if I only want to give 20%?
browbeats: ((+) boasting)

[personal profile] browbeats 2016-10-17 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
Then you're going to need the deluxe package. It's a little spendy, but I guarantee you a B- or better.
browbeats: ((l) backpack)

[personal profile] browbeats 2016-10-17 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
I usually don't share my tricks, but I can make an exception. Just promise to only use these powers for good.

You want me to look at what you've got so far, or are we starting from scratch tomorrow?
threatens: (๐Ÿ† 15)

[personal profile] threatens 2016-10-17 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Who the hell has time to start from scratch? It's three fuckin rolls of parchment.
browbeats: ((+) :))))

[personal profile] browbeats 2016-10-17 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
People who started a week ago, probably.

Yeah congrats on being a HUGE NERD with NO LIFE, Ro.

Shit. I'll get this tonight or I'm killing everyone in this cabin. Can't believe I seriously used to study three hours a night back in
browbeats: ((l) like wot)

[personal profile] browbeats 2016-10-17 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you, I've worked hard for that title.

That would probably get you and Reid out of having to turn in your essays, but not really in the way you want. If you get close, I could help you finish it tomorrow. Free of charge, I swear.
threatens: (๐Ÿ† 46)

[personal profile] threatens 2016-10-17 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Shit, I'll get you a trophy saying that for your birthday.

Free of charge except for that shitass smile you get which says I'm a fuckin idiot. [...] Yeah. That'd be good.

I write essays like I'm writing a fan fiction. That's just for HoM though. I don't know shit about transfiguration. That class is too hard.
gdilevi: (Default)

[personal profile] gdilevi 2016-10-17 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah! I spent all summer reading it! That's why I'm so pale!

So instead of writing it about fictional characters, I write it about real people and real events. Historical fanfiction! There might be a way to apply it to transfiguration.

The Hogwarts curriculum is notoriously very heavy on essays, it was a near necessity to learn to write well.

Ofc you do, you're smart! Which is also a vvvvv good reason to not need studying.
magitechnically: (Y1 - 012)

[personal profile] magitechnically 2016-10-17 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Also it's really boring and if you fall asleep because it's so boring, that kind of makes the whole exercise pointless.

I will say this again: TOTALLY CONSIDERING making a way to study by putting a textbook under your pillow when you're asleep anyways my sr project. And then I will be a legend.

That will somewhat ironically take more studying...
magitechnically: (Y1 - 045)

[personal profile] magitechnically 2016-10-17 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
That's a really smart idea!!! It's probably not comfortable to sleep on a book... but that seems like a worthwhile sacrifice.

The studying to not have to study issue is kind of a problem though. เป’( โ€ขฬ โˆง โ€ขฬ€ )เฅญ

I'll bring notes and essay plans.

Oh! Unless that was a, "How do YOU write an essay?" In which case, I like drawing a brainstorm first!
