Would you rather have wings for arms but no hands, or have tentacles for legs? 🤔
[A piece of paper is taped in after Paige witnesses a curious meeting in the Divination Tower.]
STAR TREK: PROPHECY (PILOT)
Int. Starfleet Academy - Simulated USS Enterprise Bridge - Kobayashi Maru Test
CADET CHERRY, a handsome man in his thirties who wears a Starfleet cadet uniform, sits in the bridge commander's chair. His expression is serious but thoughtful. Other CADETS stand or sit at consoles around the bridge and wear the same style of uniform. When Cadet Cherry speaks his voice is authoritative, but low and calm.
HELM CADET
What do you propose we do, Captain? We're between a stubborn rock and an awfully hard place with these pesky Klingons.
CADET CHERRY
We're in the Klingon Neutral Zone, Officer. We have to respect the treaties or we tarnish the good names of Starfleet and the United Federation of Planets.
ENGINEERING CADET
But the Kobayashi Maru! The hundreds of people on board...
CADET CHERRY
I am aware, Officer.
CHERRY leans forward.
CADET CHERRY (CONT'D)
Years ago I had a vision that saved the Klingon Chancellor from being poisoned — a most dishonourable death. Open a communication channel and hail the centre battle cruiser.
We see ADMIRAL BLUE pin CHERRY's new pips to his red dress uniform. Cherry stands, looking noble and yet somehow humble, as SPECTATORS clap. Blue smiles warmly.
Cherry catches the eye of a FEMALE GRADUATE wearing a dress uniform in the blue of the sciences division, a woman in her thirties with black hair cut in a bob and sensible, straight bangs. She seems friendly yet Cherry breaks decorum momentarily to look away and blush.
CHERRY's VOICE Captain's Log, Stardate Three Zero Eight Two Four One Point Six Two. We have been orbiting Goobear Beta for a month while we wait for Ambassador Peel to wake from her species' yearly hibernation.
Science Officer Williams recently led an away team to Prosperous Six where they successfully gathered samples of the so far unidentified strains of flora which line its coastal land. Officers Victor and Yellowdays informed me after their return that her interactions with the local Ambresians were crucial to keep the peace.
It was a hard sell to convince Starfleet to reassign a Science Officer to the Valeran based on "naught but a prophetic dream," but the fight was worth it. Officer Williams has proven herself to be an indispensable addition to the Valeran Bridge crew,
We see CHERRY and WILLIAMS having an engaging conversation over a pot of tea. Although the Mess Hall is nearly full, everyone else is blurred.
CHERRY'S VOICE (CONT'D) and a valued friend.
OFFICER WILLIAMS waits on the Transporter pad. The sound of DOORS opening is heard.
USS VALERAN TRANSPORTER ROOM - DOORS
The doors to the hallway open. CAPTAIN CHERRY enters. Camera pans as he walks across the room and pauses at the base of the Transporter pad.
CHERRY Are you prepared for a new adventure, Officer Williams?
WILLIAMS I thought you'd never ask.
CHERRY steps onto the pad beside WILLIAMS and readies for transportation.
Right as before the process begins, they reach out to hold each other's hands. Small smiles spread across both of their faces. The scene fades as Cherry and Williams are transported.

[...] Is this meant to be another Star War? Cherry doesn’t really follow the rest of the names.

No, it's another Star Trek! It's like Star Wars but more Muggley, and it's TV shows instead of movies (but there are a lot of movies!)

It's like the final exams for Starfleet Cadets who want to become Commanders!

You should write a holodeck malfunction episode next. Those are the best.

Doesn't being at this school feel like a long holodeck malfunction episode?

I'd still pick tentacle legs if there were only two, but eight is ideal.

Tentacles. Definitely. It's gotta be tentacles.WellWould the tentacles always be wet?
Also, this was great! And, maybe it's just me, but I need an Officers Victor and Yellowdays spin-off.

Thank you, Webster Knox! They can introduce it in the fourth season! I think Officer Victor should have her own ship: the USS Foxfire!
