Lake Gooseberry Killer Does Not Approve of Pranks

LAKE GOOSEBERRY KILLER STRIKES AGAIN
Violet McGonagall and Concordia Knight have come together to prank the Ribbonfin Sophomore Girls Cabin! In the spirit of Halloween and the Sophomore Prank War that's starting to gain some traction, the two girls sneak out after curfew, wait until their unsuspecting classmates are asleep, and proceed to rig the whole thing with water ballons, silly string, and fake spiders.
Much of this is done with magic, though some of it is done by painstakingly heading inside to set a few things up - with more magical aid to keep quiet - and once it's done the two stand back for a few moments and survey their handiwork. It's well past curfew now, if not technically already Monday morning and they finally decide to head back. Though they definitely wish they could stay to see the mayhem in the morning, they don't want to be caught! So the two take off down the path towards the Ornery Oak before they split up to go to their separate cabins.
Except, they don't make it there. As they're heading out of the tree line, Violet spots a shadowy figure standing off at the woods. It looks just like the Lake Gooseberry Killer - though features are indistinct they are totally sure he's holding a knife and he's LAUGHING at them! The two don't even notice he's not coming for them - he walks right off into the woods, no harm no foul, but the two run screaming back to Ribbonfin.
Where all hell breaks loose. As Concordia bursts through their door forgetting all about the prank, the water balloon falls and breaks over her head. Letting out a shriek, she slips on the water and slides across the room. Natalie Prince, startled awake, sits up and gets a face full of silly string. Carolina Foster-Hayes tries to find the light, and ends up touching a fake spider! Thinking it's real, she immediately starts trying to kill it with a nearby shoe accidentally flinging it at Peyton Ryder.
Violet takes a slip right behind Concordia, and ends up falling over onto Antigone Brown who shoves her off. Violet hits yet another trap, and a water balloon drenches them both. Finally, Grace Sowerberry gets the lights on and yells for everyone to shut up. Seeing Cordi and Violet, they demand to hear an explanation or so help her, she will get Mr. Hightower!!!!
» PRANK SET UP & LGK: Violet and Concordia are about to get a really unpleasant surprise...
» RIBBONFIN SOPH GIRLS CABIN CHAOS: WATER BALLOONS! SILLY STRING! FAKE SPIDERS! GIRLS SCREAMING!
» AFTERMATH: Oh, heck.
» OOC - QUESTIONS, COMMENTS & CONCERNS: I hear this is popular.

Aftermath
Grace & Open to Multiple
Well, apart from starting to clean up the mess. While she occasionally casts glances at Violet or Concordia or her roommates, she focuses her attention on pulling down the silly string and the remaining traps and turning what she's learned in Magical Rudiments toward the cleanup effort. She's definitely not thinking about the fact that there's maybe a guy with a knife outside somewhere.
Grace & Concordia
So, she went about helping Grace clean up - particularly the more secretive and harder to see traps that they somehow had not already set off in the mayhem that had been the two girls rampaging through the cabin in fright.
"Should we lock the door? You don't think he'll come back, do you?" She asked the room, though she was looking at Grace who was nearest. "It's just another prank, right? Sy trying to - you know - get a second laugh out of it? That laugh..." She heard Sy laugh, she knew his voice from practice. Though they were on the ground, Cheer practiced the same time as the Quidditch team and he was certainly loud enough to be heard from the ground sometimes.
Grace & Concordia & Rosy
Pushing open the door with perhaps more force than necessary, Rosy doesn't even notice the silly string that drops into her hair.
"Everyone better be okay," she says as an introduction, her hand shoved in her sweatshirt pocket, gripping the wand in there. "And ready to give me details."
Grace & Concordia & Rosy
Then she straightens, correcting herself quickly, "But it is. A joke, I mean. Almost certainly. Though, Rosy doesn't think it was Sy this t-" As if on cue, as if speaking the older girls name summoned her, that's when the door bangs open. Grace jumps and, while she can't really get any paler, she does look visibly startled. Then she sighs with relief. "Rosy! Everyone's okay. Everyone here, at least..." She looks at Concordia to supply the details.
Grace & Concordia & Rosy
She knew it had to be a joke, but it certainly didn't feel that way. What was he playing at, being out after curfew and scaring the daylights out of Violet and Cordi? Or maybe that was the point - scaring the kids who were out of bed late. Maybe it was a misguided Prefect or something, trying to get this lot of troublemakers to take their warnings and precautions seriously. Still, that seemed far-fetched. Grace was sure it was a joke, and though Concordia was poised to argue -- Rosy came in.
It was like being scolded by her mother or something. She wasn't even in trouble with Rosy yet but the Stoker's reputations - both of them - proceeded them. Concordia basically made herself really small, hoping to just be passed over entirely but that wasn't going to happen. She sighed, ready to supply details. "There's not much to tell." She said, looking at Violet for a second before turning back to Rosy. "We were leaving here after - you know - setting up..." She paused. "Sorry." She added quickly, before going on.
"We were like, just coming off the path when we looked towards the trees and saw someone. Couldn't see who it was, probably definitely a guy though based on build and the laugh. They were totally holding a knife -" No confirmation but in her head that was PURE FACT now, "And then he sort of laughed and we took off running back here."
Grace & Concordia & Rosy
"Well, clearly too many people think they're funny around here," she says, plucking the silly string from her hair. She's clenching her teeth so hard she feels like they're about to crumble to dust. "You think our curfews are funny, too? Just to give us something to do in case we're bored in the middle of the night?"
Grace & Concordia & Rosy
Grace & Concordia & Rosy
She doesn't point out that it seemed incredibly coincidental that this person knew someone would be on the trails—on that trail—at this time of night. Keeping everyone calm was the immediate goal. "I guess it's just tradition now."
Grace & Concordia & Rosy
Rosy did however seem to think it was just a prank and Concordia watched quietly as Grace and Rosy spoke. She shoved some more silly string into a small garbage back and sniffled quietly. She was nearly crying from relief and shame and all sorts of heightened emotions but hastily turned away, busying herself with more garbage.
"Yeah, tradition. Gooseberry has a lot of stupid dangerous traditions, like... skinny dipping in the frozen lake and all that. I should have realized -- " She shrugged and leaned against the wall, exhausted.
Tally & Kurt (& Senior Ribbonboys?)
Trudging across the Ribbonfin campsite in her polka dot pajamas while still brushing silly string out of her hair doesn't create the most fearsome image, but she pounds on the senior boys' door loud enough to probably startle somebody.
"Kurt!" she yells as she knocks for a second time in about ten seconds. "Open the door please. It's Natalie," she adds, like it might be anyone else.
Tally & Kurt (& Senior Ribbonboys?)
Tally's voice makes him fumble harder but, just as she finishes speaking, the door swings out. He steps aside to let her in, eyes wide. "T-tally, are you okay? What's happening?" His voice is hushed (he still has roommates!) but plainly worried.
