The following is delivered to Cricket at her cabin by two Ebonhide freshmen (buddy system!) after the pumpkin carving party, not long before curfew.

Querida Cricket,
Would you be my date to the Halloween dance?

Although you already said that you would, I thought that you still deserved to be asked properly, rather than only through your journal. I hope that you say yes again, and that you enjoy the flowers.

Cricket is UTTERLY CHARMED! She asks the two Ebonhide freshmen to wait "just one minute!" and sits down to fold a quick origami heart. Inside is the imprint of a lipstick kiss and the words, '¡Sí! ¡Sí!'

She gives each freshman a treat for their trouble and begs them to deliver the note to Rafael at breakfast (it's getting letting late, after all).
