What do we know about last night?

There was a spell fight in the forest between the Ribbonfin and Ebonhide camps involving MACUSA, who turned us away and claimed that nothing happened when we went to investigate.

Director Grimshaw. Works for MACUSA(?) Ira heard him arguing with a teacher today and he "dropped the keeping the kids safe card."

I'm doing readings but I keep getting the feeling that... old people will be making an appearance on the 6th. I'm not sure what that means, but I don't think it's our parents.

Old people like more MACUSA people or old people like ghosts, I wonder?

At first I thought old people meant my grandparents were coming, but it's not that. It feels like a more general old people, not my grandparents specifically.

My [...] last reading that involved a ghost didn't give the same "old people" vibe. Maybe Senior MACUSA agents? Higher ups in the government getting involved?

I don't know.

If it was a fight, sending in even more senior MACUSA reps makes sense. That's probably it? But that means there'll be more agents stomping around the grounds and that's [...] not great?

I don't know. I just don't... It's just "old people". Unless it's Grandparents Visitation Day or we're going to take a class trip to a nursing home, it feels out of place.

At least it's not "fire" or "poison" or "rodent hell", right? "Old people" sounds tame in comparison.

It definitely looked like a fight with all the spell colours lighting up the forest. It's extra suspicious that the agents told us that nothing happened instead of making up a false claim and sticking to it. Did they not have enough time to prepare a story?

That'd be an awful nice charitable thing to do for the holidays. And it seems like they sure do enjoy sending us on field trips this year. ~~I wonder~~

"You saw nothing" is for sure the LEAST effective thing to say to a bunch of teenagers though don't you think? Like, that's pretty much asking for some kids to meddle, huh?

They do, don't they? I wonder if they want us off campus again for some reason?

Not yet, but any meddler worth their salt starts with snooping. I wonder if anyone could identify the spells being cast last night? That could give us an idea of what the light show was.

The forest is the #1 hookup spot.

Sylla or Calvin would probably know. They're the leaders of D&F Club. I don't think they're too fond of the forest dwellers though so I doubt they'd talk to me about it since it's obvious why I'm snooping.

Tell me about it. You spend a year at Hogwarts, you forget what it's like.

So [...] how badly do you think it would go over if I warded the entire Duelling and Fencing club and asked them when we're learning the spells those MACUSA agents were using last night? It'd certainly prompt some discussion?

Hogwarts students would probably be heaps kinder if they had more hookup spots that didn't actively seek to maim them. The first time I tried to go up to the girls' dormitories to visit my friends, I got close to the top before the stairs flattened into a slide beneath me and I wiped out. On the bright side, I'm the record holder for the longest climb before the spell clued in.

And... Probably [...] not great, but you might get some answers. What about warding them with something like... "Did you all see that last night? Uff da! What do you think those spells were?"

Even the broom closets wanted to kill you! It's a shame they didn't put up a plaque in your pure-hearted honor, En. Or maybe they did and only the girls know, for sure.

I hope there is a plaque. I hope some of my blood is still on the stairs, too. In honor of the fallen.

Broom closets were like the Iron Maidens of Hogwarts. Nobody went there to hook up, you were only in there if some asshole pushed you in there. But if you did find a spot that didn't want to kill you, there were twenty portraits on the wall that were eager to see what you were up to. I can't say I tried to get up to any sort of mischief at Hogwarts so maybe my search for a private spot wasn't as thorough as it could have been. I mostly just used them to hide from people.
