I think giving it to someone without their consent is illegal? But I guess you could say that about a lot of potions?

Then they should just make it illegal completely. Someone explained it to me and yeah it doesn't sound like anything anyone should use or give to anyone or anything.

It's strange, isn't it? Wizards seem to have a fairly lax attitude towards love potions, even when they acknowledge that love potions can be dangerous. Is it because the effects aren't "real"?

Anyway, as I understand it... Amortentia isn't illegal, but giving someone a potion without their consent or knowledge is. Mr. Elmasry seemed to be taking great care to make sure no one walked off with a sample.

There are kind of a lot of things I don't really get about wizarding stuff but I don't take potions so I don't know.

Did he do pat downs? Or whatever magical pat downs would be. That's probably opening a whole can of worms even saying that. You know what I mean.

Yeah exactly that's what I was thinking too. We're getting this buddy system thing because we can't be trusted but we're letting students be taught about this really shady potion and how to make it? It's just weird is all I'm saying.
