It's time for hockey!!! Against your family!!! Sure there's a for reals game tomorrow, but who doesn't like the excitement of playing hockey twice in a row? Especially when you have the chance of crushing your family members (figuratively, of course).

Hazel Keating and Rosemary Stoker are running this thing, of course, and while it's definitely more lax than usual hockey, there are still rules, kids. Before they begin, these rules are explained to everyone. If you know what's good for you, you won't try to push your luck with these girls.

GENERAL RULES

You have to bring a counterpart to play on the Visiting team. This is intended for family members, but if you want to play and don't have someone to ~~force~~ ask to play with you, you can ask a friend! If you have multiple family members who want to play, they can switch out. But only one on the ice at a time, please. We want balanced teams.
Alums are allowed to play on the Home team as long as they have a counterpart on the Visiting team
No wands on the ice except for the referee.
Players aren't allowed any intentional physical contact with other players, because trying to check your family members is frowned upon. We're trying to pretend like Gooseberry is totally safe, ok? Any player found to be ignoring the badge system will be immediately ejected from the game.
There are no positions or goalies.
Helmets and mouthguards are mandatory for all players, any other padding is left to the discretion of the student. Figure skates are not allowed for safety reasons.
For their safety, no one is allowed to cross the neon yellow markers.

As they arrive, each player is assigned to the Home team (made up of Gooseberry students and alums) or the Visiting team (made up of family members and the odd student) and is given a pinny in the color of their team (red on gold for the Home Team and black on seafoam for the Visiting Team).

And then, finally, the game gets underway!! It's not as rough and tumble as usual, of course, but there are quite a few highlights. Like the fact that at some point [Student A] tries to sneak an extra family member on the ice... even though it's pretty obvious that there are too many people on the Visiting team now. They get a really stern look from Hazel and Rosy. What the hell, dude?

Elias Ashworth is too busy flirting to realize that they let the puck sail right between their legs, allowing [Student C] to score.

Oh, yeah, and that really accidental collision between Clementine Decourt and their father. .... That was an accident, right?

HOW THIS WORKS:

Because we have actual hockey to run tomorrow, we just rolled the scores ahead of time!
Post below if you want to play out any scenes! Also, feel free to say your kids and their family member(s) played, even if you don't 'check in.'
The referee for this match is Rosemary Stoker. She's very serious about this job, guys. Don't make her mad.
Unless you've run it by the mods, there can't really be any major drama! So, like, don't break someone please.

Ira volunteered his little brother to fight on the ice even before he knew there was a hockey game. Elias was, predictably, overjoyed. He's a little thinner than Ira. Maybe it's just his darker hair, but he always looks a bit pale. Sickly, because he is. He breathes too hard after every lap around the ice, but it's all punctuated with a devil-may-care, delighted grin. That's what Ira has to focus on to not feel guilt for encouraging this in the first place. And anyway, Elias is having fun here. Their mothers are both on the sidelines, hiding their respective faces in their respective hands, but they don't seem to care too much.

"You never told me how hot people here are!" Crows Elias, skating a circle around his brother, who sticks out a hockey stick to trip him up. (Ira today looks tired too, no doubt because of the one-two punch of one night of debauchery followed by the next night full of feelings talk. But he's not complaining or acting weak either. Runs in the family, maybe.)

"I did." Ira states, blandly, as Elias neatly evades the block. "And Essie did. And we all did." His brother skates in the opposite direction to, presumably, avoid logic. Typical. Ira sighs and leaves him be. He keeps an eye out though, because he also hadn't told Elias how competitive Gooseberry students were. Eh. He'd figure that out soon enough.

"What's that?" Spencer leisurely skates up to Ira and Mini Ira, aka Elias. He quirks his head curiously. Maybe he should have left the brothers alone to bond, but he can't resist sticking his nose into Ira's business. It's not a crime to be interested in a friend's home life, right?

"You warning him about us? Tell him what a dick I am?" Spencer floats around them in a effortless circle. "I bully Ira every day," he boasts.

"He thought he'd warned me that his school is inside a modeling agency." Elias wastes no time piping back, skating back and stopping, making a point to check out Spencer. Ira doesn't stop. He's learned not to. He pokes his hockey stick out in front of Spencer's feet, this time.

"Roommate out of school, roommate in school." He makes his introductions with subsequent nods. Elias just laughs, and pays attention to the boy he doesn't know. "You should bully him more, he's earned it. If he'd warned me, I would've come single."

From somewhere far away but not really, Ira sighs.

While Rupert's default expression is normally mildly displeased, it's clear that the prefect is a little more ruffled than he normally is. Sure, it's nice to see his family... sort of. But with Reggie providing her usual slightly underhanded comments while trying to get everyone she comes in contact with to love her, and his father being his usual flighty self, it's put the sophomore into a sour mood.

And now here he is, having to watch them both play hockey. His father is a disaster, but he looks graceful at least, and of course Reggie isn't bad at all. Ugh. He crosses his arms tightly, trying to pretend like no one is around him so he doesn't have to talk to anyone.

Literally do whatever you want here guys!!!! idk!!!!!!!!

In case you just want to establish who's playing, but you def don't have to do this.

Hazel is here and is going to make her uncle play for a little bit, but he's quickly going to excuse himself so her dad (who is way too excited about this) can play.
Rupert is here... but his sister Reggie is playing on the Home team and his dad is playing on the Visiting team while he watches.

Jeffy and his sister Rhia are playing, but Rhia was very distracted by hot dad. Heyyyy hot dad.

Riley keeps trying to trip her sister Dylan, and eventually her dad decides to save his better daughter by taking over for Dylan.

And Dinah and her dad are going to poke each other's eyes out with elbows of love.

Hot dad will inform Rhia that he has the same name as her dad!!! And his daughter has the same nickname as her dad!!!! So cool!!!! (sorry for doing this I HAD NO IDEA)

Ursula is going to bring Papa de Luca along. He can't really skate but he'll have a super good time trying and chattering at her friends and making goofy-scary faces at Ferdie if he plays.

Pear is a total daddy's girl and will be bringing along her father Ramiro and then getting yelled at for ignoring the no checking rule. (He's proud of how hard she can hit!!)

And who Essie brings is up to M&M, but Diego played shinny last year, so I'm gonna assume it's probably him. ♥ (Unless the whole family wants to play!!!)

Diego will definitely play, and he's just as bad at this as everyone remembers. :')

Calvin will try to get Dimi to play. But his parents are like haha nooooo thanks...

Spencer's stepdad will sign up to play. He's a big guy with a lot of tattoos and he's obviously trying Very Hard to be a Good Dad. It's a little awkward but not a bad relationship.

Dimi has never said no to something that could cause him grievous bodily harm!!
