I feel a big guilty, actually. I think he's more upset by this whole thing than I am. He'd been certain that he'd fall for me, and I'm used to those sorts of outbursts. It shouldn't have been the mess it became.

How's Cole? I still feel odd asking him about love life things.

I wouldn't feel too guilty; I'm sure this whole thing will smooth over without too much pain. Especially since Micah bounces back quickly. Regardless, I'm glad you're alright otherwise.

It's hard to tell how much Micah takes to heart. He certainly doesn't want me knowing. We'll be fine, though.

This isn't the first time he's experienced this, but at least he was aware going in. [...] I think the whole romance thing is troubling him. He signed up for blind dates all on his own, too. I just don't know if I'm the person to try and convince him relationships are unnecessary.

That's fair - I don't know him all that well, so I assumed he just honestly didn't take anything that badly. No matter what, though, I'm also sure you'll be fine.

I know, that's why I'm a little more concerned than usual. And he does seem to be a little more preoccupied with it, lately - but, to be fair, I think Valentine's Day brings that out in a lot of people. [...] I can try to talk with him, but I'm not a particularly good choice either. Still, it's maybe worth a try.

So am I. Micah's one of the most complicated people I know... which is part of why I like him so much.

[...] I know it feels right to treat Cole like he's a fragile child, and I'm guilty of this as well. But I think what he appreciates most is being plain, fair and direct. His existence seems complicated enough without everyone trying to obscure things and protect him. I told him to fill out that blind date form saying he hated bossy people, but he mysteriously ended up with Paris anyway. And he had a good time so far as I can tell.

Yeah, I don't want to treat him like a child because he's not. He just has trouble navigating things. [...] But at what point is this sort of talk meddling too much? It comes from a good place but, in the end, it's still coddling on some level. Doesn't mean I don't want to do it, but I don't know where that line is.

I think there's a sense of security in bossy people, for him, so I'm not surprised he seemed to have a nice time.

I think discussing what to do and what's right is fair, since we're his mates. And if he were in trouble we'd help him, like with that Coralee business. I suppose we just need to [...] believe him when he says he wants to do something. Even if it's drinking bloody Amortentia. (After checking that Hazel or whoever didn't accidentally talk him into it, naturally.)

I suppose. And we should help him, but even "in trouble" is hard to define. [...] In the end, yes, we should let him do what he wants, as long as there aren't outside influences. He's got some people around him with bad ideas, to be sure.

We do all have a type. I just wish his was less likely to be problematic for him.

I'm honestly not interested in specifically defining "in trouble". We'll know it when we see it. For instance, I'm not going to call the cavalry on Paris for asking him to be a spider most of the night.

So do I. But I wish your type was willing to put out the effort to chase you, and you probably wish my type was steadier.
