FOOD FIGHT!

House practices are over for the day, but Jeffy has called together the school team for a very special bonding experience. He stands by the bleachers, excitedly displaying the tarps spread out in the center of the field, the tables full of food, as well as the goggles, rain ponchos, and a couple bats. He has a very special bonding experience for everyone tonight: a FOOD FIGHT.

"There's KIND OF something for everyone here!!!" Jeffy excitedly explains, passing out the mandatory goggles to his entire team. "Chasers need to THROW, Keepers need to CATCH, everyone needs to DODGE, you know!!" He has his usual big grin in place, and he seems very excited about this. Aren't you??? You should be!! It's gonna be GREAT!!!

Jeffy lays out the rules real quick: there are no teams! everyone have fun! be nice! if the referee tells you to knock it off, you'd better knock it off! He also explains that he will try and use this as an actual training opportunity afterwards, so he might come up and start talking to you about your form for blocking applesauce when you're done.

And when the bowl of mashed potatoes is empty and the grapes are gone, when everything is scraped clean and empty, there's one more thing: a giant plain sheet cake with "BIRTHDAY" written on it for Clem, their referee, and you should all dig in and throw some at her.

HOW THIS WORKS

• Goggles and rain ponchos are available to wear. Goggles are required, rain ponchos are only encouraged if you actually like your clothes. Beaters are also able to block with their bats. These are old beat up school bats, don’t worry too much about them getting gross, even if they’ll still look better than what they use at Ilvermorny.


• There are no teams! Because you’re all on the same team and this is not a competition!! This is fun!!!


• Clementine Decourt is the referee, and she will be watching to make sure no one seems to be enjoying causing too much pain. She's authorized to bite your ankles if you act up.


• If you look like you’re going after someone in particular or have to be scolded, Jeffy will be very disappointed in you :(((


• Soft foods only! Don’t you dare grab that apple! Foods available for throwing include things like mashed potatoes, Jell-O, peas, an entire bucket of pasta you can just destroy, bottles of condiments if you feel like squeezing ketchup on someone.


• You can ask for one re-roll and keep our higher roll! This is basically so you can redeem yourself since I'm planning on only doing one roll a piece.

Play style: Jeffy gives very few fucks when it comes to getting dirty, and wants to have fun!!! He's soft-balling a lot of his throws, and is definitely trying to make it so people dodge/block/catch what he's throwing at them.

Play style: Okay, so like maybe Essie is like A LITTLE more interested in hitting people with food than actually getting hit with it. But she is A Lot interested in hitting people with food, especially one particular tall dark and handsome Chaser who is definitely NOT technically her possible step-nephew. (But she also thinks Tuesday North is one of The Coolest Sophomores so she'll try to catch a few things with her mouth too, but this is Not Exactly a skill.)

After a little while, Jeffy suggests Essie try looking like she's aiming for Toby, then fake out and hit someone else instead. Faking out Keepers is a KEY SKILL for Chasers!!

Nisha

Play style: Nisha is actively jumping in the path of flying food with her mouth open. And utterly indiscriminate in her food lobbing although she's got a handful of basghetti with Sy's name on it.

Nisha's enthusiasm is contagious, and Jeffy tries to see if she or Tuesday can catch more of what he throws at them. Chasers don't traditionally try to eat Quaffles, but the principle is similar, right??

Play style: Tuesday is really mostly trying to catch today, with both her hands and her mouth. This is the most fun she's ever had? She'll fling food at anyone, but she's mostly focusing on showing off on the catching end.

Play style: Sy decides that going for a rain poncho will make look like a goddamn coward, but he's not really into this bonding at all. At least, not until he's nailed in the side of the face by a spaghetti catapult from Nisha, then it's fucking on. Is it possible to bruise someone with grapes? Sy's gonna try.
Anything else?: He ends up having fun by the end of it and is vaguely mad that bonding worked.

Play style: Gwen does spend a few moments audibly wishing she was a Beater so she could use one of the bats, and eyes the food with clear horror as it dawns on her that she'll have to catch things probably aimed at her mouth (thanks a lot, Tuesday). She doesn't bother with a poncho at all because she doesn't want to get slowed down. Oddly enough, she can throw like hard af, weird.. (farm muscles? who knows).
Anything else?: She isn't going to get anything in her mouth but her hair probably catches some things for her.
