March in gaming club

March 6th

• A number of unfamiliar games have appeared in the Gaming Club collection recently, most of which do not have instructions included. Ursula and Oz end up turning Electronic Mall Madness into an elaborate roleplaying game, complete with employee strikes, hostile takeovers, and land wars in the pet store.


• In an effort to be more inclusive, [Character C] puts together nine Scrabble boards to create the world’s largest and most inconvenient to play Scrabble game. A freshman accuses [Character D] of transfiguring their tiles when one of the letters changes after being placed, but [Character D] swears it has to be a consequence of the tiles and boards being duplicated so many times. Austin takes care of the matter by suddenly announcing that they have five minutes left and everyone needs to start cleaning up, wow sorry we couldn’t figure out who was right here you guys.

March 13th

• The D&D group Crit & Run goes a little off the rails this week as they head to a Space Goblin Theme Park. Lucas’s character spends the entire time stuck upside down on a ride as they repeatedly fail their rolls to escape this hell.


• A massive argument breaks out over an outdated answer on a Trivial Pursuit card. Boards get flipped. Not only does nobody win, but you’re all nerds now. Especially you, Gweneth. You know exactly why.

March 20th

• Quentin wins at least four hands of poker based on bluffing skills alone, which is especially impressive when it turns out they were actually playing with Pokemon cards.


• Hey guys, it’s okay if you play Cards Against Humanity, just maybe a little quieter. Chloe’s answer is more amusing when teachers and prefects can’t hear.

MINUTIAE

• Gaming Club meets every Tuesday in the Atrium at 7:00 PM.


• The Gaming Club members list is here, though Austin will never take attendance and never kick out drop-ins. Only members can participate in tournaments, though.


• This is very low-key, unstructured and optional calendar that will be posted on the first Tuesday of the month. If you want to scene anything, whether it's one of the events referenced above or just a chill Tuesday night in the lodge, feel free to do it here. There will be a link to each one in Austin's journal if you want to come here for reference or for a random scene in the middle of the month.


• Suggestions for future Gaming Club events and disasters are always welcome in the Gaming Club Dropbox.

Oh, we're out of stock, try again later. Oscar sat staring at the little mall game. He'd grown up with a lot of no-maj friends, a lot of no-maj games and things like that. This one he at least knew by name even if the orphanage he'd been in had never had the game. Just old, beat up games. Games like Scrabble with half the letters missing. He just didn't know exactly what the purpose of this game was, but he kept swiping the little card and yelling at it while it told him he'd missed the deal, or they were out of stock.

"I'll get you, mysterious mall voice. You're going down. Those shoes will be mine!"

It's safe to say Oz was way too into this.
